It really needs a good sort out, and simplifying, and ideal soultion would be once you have gained a particular licence eg A1, after 2 years you would be given provisional entitlement for the next, and allow someone to ride the next category with L's , and allow them to use their own bike to take the test on, and so on if someone has an A2 after 2 years they can ride an A bike on L's with a view to passing their full A test. There is no need for the ballache of a system we have in place now, just so utterly stupid and outdated.

Probably have to go through a school again, it's the clauses they put into the insurance that makes it nigh on impossible to use your own or a mates bike

The new battery i got for Xena is an AGM type and it's brilliant, even with the alarm and the parasitic drain in the form of a clock, I know even after a fortnight she will start, which has been the case sometimes this year

If that is the case, it proves how outdated the testing is. It would be interesting to get hold of the stats, to compare the ratio for the A1 category. Most A1 bikes are around 10HP, so expecting them to reach the same speed as a much more powerful bike in the same distance and timeframe is utterly ludicrous. I have my MOD1 in February for A1, i was tempted to use the CG but I think I will do it on the UM as that has a couple more HP which could make all the difference

Just swap the petrol engine for an electric motor, jobs a good un, no licence needed

What gear were you in ? Was it on the CG, because my CG can hit well over 30 in second gear.

Actually it was a 1978 Yamaha YB100 with a 125cc topend conversion

My first legal ride was back in 1989, my dad took me down to go pick it up, rode it home never having any riding experience, except for pushbikes and a Garelli moped on the school fields, rode it about five miles home with my dad following me in the car

When i started big school, i got the cane at least once a week, till one day got the cane off the headmistress and rapped her knuckles

Just got back from having the puncture repaired on the car, all good now

With cameras, they have to be visible and have a clear notice that they are present, otherwise it could be entrapment. Not sure on this though as a very grey area
