1. It's the access, the front gate has a max width of 31 inches, then to get round the back has to get through another gate of max width 28 inches, down a narrow path 3ft then a righthand turn at 90 degrees to get down a slightly wider path into the back garden where i park Xena,
2. I could park behind the car and chain it to it
3. No unfortunately, where i live the street is mainly flats, a couple of houses but no drives
4. Given my restrictions to the size of bike i could get, i was thinking why can't i just park it on the street, i know the insurance would be more but would it be such a high risk ?
5. You'll have to wait a bit, i'm currently in a queue" your call is important to us, please wait for the next available operator, you are number 673"
6. Went to another dealers and had a look he had a 1982 Yamaha xs400 which i saw online but was rough in the flesh but not a bad price at £1450, fell in love with a ZZR1400 but i would never get it through the garden gate never mind trying to get round the back, there was a quirky honda moped that looked like a mini jetski with wheels Looking at the styling of modern(ish) bikes, if you add luggage to them, the majority would not be suitable for me, they are just too big to get through the front gate, i can just about get Xena through, so for some of these others would have no chance, will still keep on looking though
7. My Xena has, she has few quirks that pop up from time to time
8. fastbob went and sat on some Kawasakis at J & S, they all seem to have a similar styling with the tank shape and seat position, it wasn't uncomfortable just not what i would choose, it is a nice bike and a good offer but it isn't what i want, i think i will wait till after getting my full licence, i am edging towards a 70's/80's style of bike, although i did sit on a Vulcan that did feel quite good but was too big to fit through my gate
9. The exhaust would be a problem, have some neighbours that turn very nasty at the slightest bit of noise, tyre and mot not an issue, it would be 2-3 weeks before i could come down anyway, would need to make arrangenents for someone to be with my missus while i'm gone Well I'm in no hurry to sell . It was a spur of the moment thing but I was vaguely considering selling it at some point. I will need to sit on one to see if the riding position is ok, tbh it's not a style of bike i would consider out of the blue, i do prefer a more upright position but i am open to change
10. I don't think anyone's against them, my issue is not the vehicles it's joe public, the majority go around in a world of their own and don't have a clue about what is happening in their surroundings, throw in a vehicle that is virtually silent it'll make death race 2000 look like toy story
11. Well before we get into that I'd better add a few details . Firstly the bike probably needs a rear tyre . It's on SORN with no MOT , I haven't got round to telling DVLA about the engine swap and it's very loud because of that tiny exhaust can . I don't know the length but I will look it up . The exhaust would be a problem, have some neighbours that turn very nasty at the slightest bit of noise, tyre and mot not an issue, it would be 2-3 weeks before i could come down anyway, would need to make arrangenents for someone to be with my missus while i'm gone
12. I think i might, i'm going to J & S tomorrow so if they have one i'll have a sit on it and see how it feels
13. Mine also comes with an electric winch inside
14. That is a very tempting offer, what is the overall length, would fit in a peugeot like this
15. does that mean i will have to get both
16. I'm deaf, i'm deaf, feck me Bob so you reckon an ER5 then
17. true, but in 2 years will be able to re-class as a historic vehicle
18. would need to get an original exhaust, the aftermarket one is on the wrong side, bit of bargaining power there that should be worth a couple of hundred off the asking price will give them a call tomorrow and see if they're open to offers
19. I've seen a kawasaki z250 within my budget would this be worth being tempted
20. Hello and welcome

22. Right then guys and gals, hit me with some suggestions for an all rounder that i can pick up for a max of £1500 that is not a 125cc, WHAT! shrieks of horror had a brief look on autotrader and some nice diversions and er5/6's for under a grand would that get me into proper bike territory
23. Six30 are you getting in some practice, have you got the mod gig then
