  1. Do you guys above know the OP and just bit of mates banter? or would you have said those comments to anyone who had posted this thread?
  2. There's a average one one fleabay https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/141978215288
  3. Have you got a photo of where it sits? Imagine someone will know easily. I would have to take photos along every step of the way #clueless
  4. Updates and photos be good, I want to go back to where I used to live in Germany one day on my bike. I always remember watching the bikes ride in along the river Rhine into Cochem. Probs what got me first hooked on bikes, enjoy your trip.
  5. NearOn checking in- No problem with J and S in Norwich.......as there isn't one!
  6. I have a toddler so that leaves 0.0000000000001 nano seconds to do hobbies. However they include gigs, films and football though not so much lately as watching Everton depresses me most weekends!
  7. I have read some owners have removed the bulb behind it due to it being so unreliable.
  8. Yeah being an oil level sensor I'm not as concerned as I would be if was pressure sensor but be nice to get it sorted all the same. Not your fault Stu, I should of mentioned it in first post
  9. Cheers both, will ask if he can sort it before I buy it. Its a bit cheaper than most are going for of that age but not drastically cheaper, spoke to him quite a bit and he seems a honest bloke (Know impossible to tell though). From what I have read it appears it happens quite a bit with them, apparently it has an oil level not pressure sensor which can go faulty as it corrodes.
  10. Hi all I am hopefully getting another bike soon after selling mine. I'm pretty much decided on a second hand 2000 reg XJR1300, the one I am looking at has a slight issue. The seller said is common with XJRs, basically the oil light stays on all the time even though its topped up of oil. He says it is due to the oil sensor that has gone faulty and happens a fair bit with old XJR's. Has anyone else come across this? I have googled it and it does come up a bit about it. Apart from that it is sound. Cheers
  11. Am I being a retard or can't you just tell your dad what a doosh he is being and that you no longer require him as a Gardner, he then has zero rights to be on your property. Solved.
  12. Nice one, so exciting choosing first big bike!

  14. I have an icon alliance which I have had about 6 months now. It came with a black visor as well as the standard clear. So far Im impressed. The quality is good, the visor locks in nicely. If using it daily then worth fitting a pinlock to stop it steaming up. Also I found changing the visor slightly fiddly but think I was doing it wrong. I have also changed the cheek pads on mine as the ones that came in mine were too tight. So overall it looks the business, wind noise is pretty average, but I dont use the motorways much so imagine is worse on that. I think for the price you cant go wrong and from what I have read they have a good rep in the U.S.

Blimey fancy giving me a job, sounds like you are doing well.
  16. Apparently so but every other biker I see especially during the summer months has a dark or iridium visor, which no doubt were sold as "track use" only, so I followed like a good old sheep and treated myself to one. Though have to say I often go back to using my caberg to have the option of the clear outer and dark inner.
  17. I had same issue with my carberg stunt, for a while on eBay there was a seller in jersey selling after market silver/dark/iridium etc. But currently I spent a while searching the net for one and they just don't exist. In the end I decided will keep the stunt lid but buy another lid for sunny days, went with a icon dark alliance which came with a clear and black visor, then for extra 16 quid for a mirrored one too. Highly recommend them as a lid.
  18. £280 the cheapest you found for a normal ce certified leather jacket? You can get new RST leather jackets for £140. Though unsure what level 2 refers to.
  19. Me and the Moto Cage, shame bad weather is here http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i200/odloveless/rsz_7dc99cc9-71eb-4946-b9fd-0ae3a8ab4714_zpsvp7ghrwj.jpg
  20. Midland XTC400 Action Camera bought for £119 but seems to vary from place to place, seen it at £259! I have posted the below on another thread but thought might be an idea to give it its own thread as might miss it otherwise. Overall I am pretty pleased with it. I'm yet to really sit down and look at what you can change on the settings though. So far used it on my commute and watched a few videos back. They have been very good, I'll try break down the different features of it. Mounts (included in standard package) there are two main mounts that are of most use to bikers, one flat mount which I put on top of one of my helmets and then 1 spider sort of mount which sticks out slightly. That I have put on the side of another helmet. They are very secure and had no issues with them sticking. The camera has grooves on it (both sides and bottom) which lock onto the mount and can be bit fiddly to get the camera back off but easier once get used to it. Build of the camera is very robust, I've dropped it a couple times albeit indoors but no problem with it. Does feel like it will take a bit of a beating. Wifi- the camera has wifi and can connect to smart phone app "action connect" to get a view of what you are looking at, very useful for lining up on helmet. Once I have done that I usually switch off the wifi as uses more battery apparently. You can take the clips from the cam using the app over wifi or connect the camera to your pc and get them that way. Mic- the cam has an internal mic and external mic port, I have used both, naturally the internal mic on bike rides is just wind noise. I connected a external mic and put it in my helmet but that was mainly wind noise too, I need to locate the mic in a better location so that's mostly my fault. The cam comes with a waterproof case which when fitted you can't access the mic port which is annoying but when raining on my commute I doubt I'll do any vlogging anyway. The case does look pretty watertight but yet to test it. And lastly and most importantly video quality. I would recommend watching the clips back via a laptop/PC as through the app for some reason they look grainy and pretty awful. I was gutted when saw that but when watched on laptop they were the 1080 HD clips advertised and am impressed. It deals with light changes well and has a nice wide angle when recording. I should mention you can turn the lense round so if it's fitted on your helmet wrong way is easy to sort. Am sure there are things I've missed but will edit this post as remember and will try sort some sample clips out from the camera. Sample 1 https://youtu.be/unPNgY6Rx7A
  21. We did ours online with no issues, I think if follow the advice/instructions can't go wrong.

  23. I may well have missed a post, but cant the time be shared now by the couple? So you share the maximum maternity the mother usually gets? I always thought I could be at home instead and the wife goes back to work but in reality I doubt I could do it, I just don't have the patience. I enjoy going to work and spending all weekend with him instead.
  24. I've heard these products similar to rain x marketed for bike visors rain repellent use can damage your visor too. I'm surprised no one has invented a full proof visor anti rain system, like someone said above the market for it is astronomical!
  25. I changed my mind after watching numerous reviews of the garmin virb and issues with it dealing with the colours on bright sunny days. Instead I went with a Midland XTC 400 action camera for £115, a bit more than wanted to spend but the reviews are great. It comes with the necessary mounts, waterproof case and external mic port. I've seen it on several sites at its RRP price of £259 so I'm very happy with price I got it at new. I'll post a review once it's arrived and tried it out.
