  1. so in conclusion. BIG BANG - two of the cylinders fire at the same time in a pair. SCREAMER - the cylinders fire 1,2,3,4 in a singluar motion. V4 - Shaped like a V 4 cylinders, provides better balance V Twin - Not quite as powerful at top end, but because of the slower pulse of the cylinders it provides better tractions and drive out of the corners. Sound right so far?
  2. Thought we could have a quick look into engines, mainly because it's all you seem to hear in MotoGP at the moment and also because I'd like to know and I don't know the full details. It appears that most of the teams in the paddock are running on V4's although Yamaha are using a inline 4 someone correct me at any point if I am wrong. There are several different configurations available for these engines, namely, Big Bang, Screamer, etc... Big Bang is the firing order of the pistons is set to fire in pairs, where as a screamer does???? anyone want to fill in the blanks.
  3. yep JT was only 0.3 of a second slower than Edwards on race rubber. No Pedrosa at the test cause of injury and no Rossi or Lorenzo because the team didn't want to test Strange decision that. I know each test costs a lot of money but surely more testing is better and if Tech 3 can afford it and apparently still don't have a sponsor looks like Melandri is improving too at last. Seems to be mirroring Stoners 2007 pre season form, nothing amazing but he'll probably be on it for the first race. Phillip Island has always been a bad track for Suzuki so I suppose their times aren't too bad. Still shocked but Team Alice though, thought Elias and Guintoli would do better. Roll on Day 2
  4. apparently those BSB boys aren't too bad either. one handed over the mountain at cadwell park http://www.redbull.co.uk/mime/1190202539272-957464115/dc_cropped/2SNP_Rea_1822.jpg Errr I didn't think that was possible
  5. GO BRADLEY Even more reason to get Eurosport and get up early on Sundays to watch the 125cc races. With Toselands MotoGP move Brad's success has been a bit muted. won't be if he wins the first race in Qatar. By the way are the 125cc and 250cc running at night? or is it just the MotoGP class?

  7. I think a lot of people get over looked in those honours lists. I mean what about Murray Walker???? poor old boy, he's 80 now. Motor Racing still isn't quite the same without him. I spent my youth watching Touring cars, Motorbikes, Forumla 1/3 all commentated on by Murray Walker. John Surtees though, what a man, back when racing was without seatbelts, without rollcages, scary stuff.
  8. Good news, I had a go with the grinder tonight, loads of damp sheets covering the bike and slowly chopped into the lock. Managed to cut a large triangle close to the gap and then just cut above the loop that goes close to the disc, it fell in two pieces and I was thankfully no where near the disc with the grinder, so looks like I've got away with it thankfully. Thanks for all your advice. At least I now know it would take 20 minutes and alot of noise to get that off, trouble is though that it only took three of us five minutes to load it in the back of a van the other night when we couldn't remove the lock. Not so good.
  9. got out of work tonight and my disc lock wouldn't open off my front break disc, then the key broke in the lock DOH I'm completely stuck, I've managed to stick the bike in a van and get it home but has anyone got any ideas how to get the lock off? Thanks, Edited by Gary...Moved to pitstop
