  1. Someone keep Suzi Perry away from him this year then. We need him concentrating on his racing this year and I'm sure if I was 16 or 17 again and I was being interviewed by a woman like this, my mind wouldn't be on the job at hand. http://www.suziperry.utvinternet.ie/img/girl_racer.jpg http://www.doublevisionracing.com/gallery/Rossi/Sam%20(L)%20Alex%20with%20Suzi%20Perry.jpg
  2. two more seasons is too long. He needs to win the title this year, which I think he has a good chance of doing. Then move up to 250cc at age 17/18 that way he has 3/4 years to get use to and try to win the 250cc championship before moving up to MotoGP at 21. Smithy will do it. The biggest challange he has now is that first win. he's got the first podium but he needs the first win and the last few laps are tough. Plus there are normally 6 guys still dicing for the lead on the last lap of a 125cc race.
  3. I like bits of it. but some of the lines are too straight. I wish they would round off some of the fairings.
  4. sounds like a waste of time to me, I think when he had a go at Valencia he was 5 seconds off the pace of the front runners which I suppose you could say is quick good. The problem is that most racers (WSS/WSB/AMA) could get a bike round the track 5 seconds a lap slower, even if he improves by 3.5 - 4 seconds a lap that last second is as hard to make up as three apparently. Although maybe Ducati are looking into tactics to stop Rossi winning at Mugello, maybe they will get Schumacher to lap 5 seconds a lap slower and then when Rossi comes up to lap him, he'll do a Damon Hill/Jacque Villenuve on him just kidding.
  5. mainly watch Eurosport because the commentators are better, Parish and Cox are good but when the s*** hits the fan in MotoGP ala Estoril Hayden/Pedrosa you can't beat Moody and Ryder. If anyone has a youtube link to that please post so everyone can see how good those two are. Also they provide better coverage, friday free practise, qualifying and more in depth insider information. Eurosport told us last year about some of the riders moving two or three races prior to BBC mentioning it. Plus, in the MotoGP race when they go to an ad break, switch over for a minute and then switch back, you don't miss a thing
  6. Damn it, I been looking forward to that all weekend and then the weather f***s it up. would have been so much better in the dry. would have at least been 5 - 6 people with a chance of finishing top. respect to Casey for being able to do that lap as Melandri clearly couldn't but it would of been 100% better in the dry.
  7. Pedrosa is clearly starting to feel the pressure with two seasons without a title. He's so desperate that he's decided to change his number to 2 instead of the usual 26?? It was clearly a late decision because it wasn't on the list of numbers when it released earlier in the season. It will be so annoying for poor Pedrosa when he's number 2 and Lorenzo is number 1
  8. to emphasise my point I can't believe someone thought that was a good design when there are talented people out there that can make nice paintjobs. examples below. http://motociclete.motomag.ro/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/yamaha-yzr-m1_10-anni.jpg http://quanteruote.libero.it/media/M1_fiat_2007_rossi.jpg http://motociclete.motomag.ro/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/fiat-rossi.jpg
  9. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/207278/images/450x240/Toseland1.jpg I think I could of designed the bike better if I had been blindfolded and left with a random palette of colours. and there are no sponsors on it.
  10. the annoying thing is that it doesn't say what their fastest laps were set on. Qualifers or race tyres. My guess. top 7 were on qualifers and then 8 onwards didn't use qualifiers. Hayden obviously did. I find it quite a shame that Honda are content to keep fooling themselves into thinking they have a quick bike by putting in qualifers and topping the timesheet. Tomorrow should be very interesting. I still can't believe Melandri. I beat he wishes he'd never moved now.
  11. I'll say Lorenzo for the car. Toseland 4th I seem to remember Lorenzo was quite good on qualifiers at the earlier test at Jerez.
  12. Don't know if anyone else has entered but here are my team picks. If anyone else has signed up we could start a TMBF league. MotoGP Andrea Dovizioso James Toseland WSB Troy Bayliss Lorenzo Lanzi BSB Leon Haslam Michael Rutter I'm pretty happy with that team. Only thing I was thinking about changing was Lanzi for Neukirchner on the Suzuki although I think that at tracks like Qatar the Ducati will have an advantage.
  13. dunno about the length of his contract but I guess like most sportsmen and women these days there are clauses in his contract, probably one stating that if WSB come calling with an offer of a ride that he can go. I mean AMA is really like BSB, if a WSB team wants a rider then I doubt a BSB team would stand in their way. I know this comment won't go down well with everyone but I'm not that impressed with AMA, the tracks aren't really anything special and there is little to no competition. At least in BSB there are several teams that can win.
  14. From what he was saying he wanted back, but he was worried about waiting on a deal that might not happen and being stuck on the sidelines again. I reckon if he would have waited he would of maybe got the place ahead of Checa or Kenan at ten kate, but the thing was he couldn't wait. Maybe if he has a good season next year he'll be in WSB. Although by then there will probably be 2 - 3 british riders in the field. Maybe Rea, maybe Haslam, maybe Jones??? I do think signing up for the AMA superbike was a bit silly, because unless your in the Suzuki team, Maladin/Spies none of the other bikes seem to be on par.

    Vale 46

That clip in 2004 in South Africa always gets me. After reading his Autobiography he claims that he was sitting there laughing. I still reckon he was crying it had been an emotion choice switching and still winning and also becoming only the second rider to win back to back on two manufacteurs.
  16. I wouldn't be too worried that Lorenzo hasn't improved his time in the afternoon. It mentioned that he was working on setup. So obviously they got something that didn't work. I expect they will go back to a base setting tonight and hopefully tomorrow he should be on the pace of Rossi again. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a Yamaha 1/2 by the end of the third day
  17. Rossi has now dipped to a 2:00:300 but he was on a qualifier. 2.3 seconds is quite a lot though. looking forward to day 2's and 3's times. [attachment=:name] gsx550
  18. more footage of the whole field http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62WFXyw3IDs

  20. I only know two riders who do it. Rossi and Lorenzo. He wears his Dainese suit the same, he celebrates like Rossi, he's almost a mini me. Hopefully he will ride like him too and give everyone a good run for their money in the championship this year. I couldn't afford him in the MCN fantasy league so I went with Dovi and De Angelis
  21. Gotta agree Techno, I think Pedrosa is feeling the pressure, he may have won three won titles in three years but what if he's another one of these riders who can't cut it at the top? I know he finished second in the championship last year but he's only won 4 races out of 36 in MotoGP and everytime he gets in to a battle with Rossi he comes out the loser. I think with Lorenzo being in MotoGP now there is more pressure on Pedrosa, which could explain why he's being a bit bitchy in the press. Pedrosa - "We all know what happens when Nicky's left to develop a bike" Owwwww handbags at ten paces in the Repsol garage. GO ON GEORGE LAWRENCE
  22. I noticed this picture on motogp the other day and it almost made me think it's worth a caption competition. Whats the mechanic to Stoners right thinking.
  23. Well, looks like theres nothing wrong with that Ducati or Stoners arm for that matter, The World Champion was miles ahead on the charts at the end of the third day although it's all a bit of a smoke screen as Qualifiers were once again thrown into the equation. I know some of the new guys need to learn how to use qualifers but I think these should be banned from test times, it just makes it look stupid. Stoner 1 min 28 secs 777 Hayden 1 min 29 secs 734 Toseland 1 min 29 secs 754 Dovi 1 min 29 secs 780 Edwards 1 min 29 secs 795 Vermeulen 1 min 30 secs 216 De Angelis 1 min 30 secs 438 Nakano 1 min 30 secs 728 Elias 1 min 30 secs 966 De Puniet 1 min 30 secs 978 Guintoli 1 min 30 secs 983 Melandri 1 min 31 secs 377 Capirossi 1 min 31 secs 508 West 1 min 31 secs 957
  24. well from my understanding of it once you have set the pistons in a certain firing order, thats all you can do until you take it apart and change it so you can either have big bang or screamer. I did read somewhere that someone was trying to work on a solution so the firing order could be changed by the rider or through electronics on the bike. Not quite sure if I read that right. Anyways just going back to the screamer for a minute, I've heard two different explanations and I haven't a clue. Someone told me that a screamer means that all the cylinders fire at once? or do they fire individually 1,2,3,4 Blooming heck Maths is easier to understand than engines.
