  1. I quite agree Willow slick tyre + greasy surface = ARE YOU FERKING CRAZY no wonder some of the riders were looking across to race direction with their hands up. I think some of these riders are born without the fear gland
  2. Xbox 360 June 1st PS3 September 2008
  3. How on earth does a tyre stick to the road in the rain in a corner at 100mph? or even 70mph for that matter? surely basic physics says that the bike should slide out from under them? I've no idea how it sticks. I could understand how cars stayed on because they have four wheels and some stability but bikes? I think this is the same problem I have when I ride myself, lack of confidence that it will stick and a bit worried that its going to wash out from underneath me and slide me across in front of a car. Those BSB boys are something special. Those tracks can be intimidating at the best of times but even more so in the wet.
  4. It's really weird every race we have failed to see if Michelin has bounced back or not. Qatar were cool conditions so the Michelin's worked well Jerez is a Michelin track Estoril is a Michelin track China which is a Bridgestone track and was looking that way until the super Michelin qualifers went in and then it rains and gets cool allowing Michelin to get a good result. I still think if it had been really hot that it would have been a different result. Probably Rossi 1st with Stoner 2nd Pedrosa was only 8th on a race tyre on the Saturday. I think come the hotter tracks Michelin might fall on their a**es again and Rossi and his Bridgestones could come good.
  5. True, Dani is one hell of a rider and people make too much out of it that he's small and doesn't weight much, who cares, thats just good luck. I think Dani has the ability to be the next leader of the pack but he's gonna have to watch out cause Lorenzo will be chasing him every step of the way. Lorenzo's ride today reminded me of Pedrosa in Sepang '06
  6. Highside was crazy, how he got away with the injuries he did I never know. The wobble in qualifying was.... well I still can't quite make out how he didn't come off it. I'm sure at one point if they had there MotoGP lean angle metre on the bike was probably at 70 degrees. It was a crash I think they need a new trophy for this year for save of the season. After Edwards at Jerez and now Lorenzo at Jerez and China. and what a lad. Gets on the bike, drops back but has the stamina to come through and pick Techno up some good points. DAMN IT
  7. I reckon Hooch is Dani Pedrosa. He's registered on the site to convert us all.
  8. No I quite agree with you Dani Pedrosa is one hell of a rider, he mastered the 990cc bike when everyone said it would be too powerful for him, and he has been very impressive in his MotoGP career so far. The point I would make though is if you look at his 125cc and 250cc form he dominated, then he moved to MotoGP battled with Rossi at Brno and came off second best, I still can't figure out why. After that it was almost a bit psychological that he couldn't beat Rossi. He almost lost the will to fight. Now Lorenzo has turned up Pedrosa has got his fight back. Pedrosa is a fantastic rider no doubt but he's no crowd pleaser, and when I say that there is nothing wrong with that, some people just aren't.
  9. My heart says Lorenzo but my head says don't rule out Rossi. I really like Lorenzo, when I first saw him I thought he was a bit cocky, a bit of a show off and a bit big headed, but he's matured and to be honest people he's just a younger version of Rossi, they are very similar, which is probably why I like him. Plus the rivalry with Pedrosa is Biaggi vs Rossi all over again. So yeah I'd like to see Lorenzo win the MotoGP title. If Rossi doesn't win it will be the tyres fault. But maybe Rossi is still eyeing a switch to another Bridgestone team
  10. For the budding Bayliss' and the next Nitro Nori's here is a trailer of WSB 2008 I think it's out on Xbox 360 and PS3. It looks pretty good. First trailer is an early version as they still have the old bike models but the second is an updated version. Older Trailer Newer trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFyz5alUxqI [/url]
  11. What do Managers get paid for? I'm starting to wonder. There is talk that next year. America wants to fund a team for Spies in MotoGP, which is fair enough but first off I think he needs to prove he can perform at that level and I personally don't think AMA cuts it. He has now staying in AMA to defend his title again which is a stupid decision. Clearly the most sensible choice this year would have been a switch to the WSB paddock. Why you ask? Simple. All Ben Spies has done is travel around America with the AMA series, although it's not a big deal breaker alot of the new stars find it daunting travelling all around the world, jet lag, different languages etc..., a season in WSB would acustom Spies to this. Secondly it would allow Spies to compete against some of the best riders in the world as oppose to some of the best in America and prove to the MotoGP teams that he is indeed a future star. But my biggest reason would be that several of the WSB tracks are acutally MotoGP tracks. Qatar, Estoril, Assen, Donington Park, Indy, Misano. What are they hoping to achieve with a third AMA title. there's only 2 riders that can win it on the dominant Suzuki's
  12. very lucky to get away with the injuries he had. I think the air fence was his saviour on this day. not always that way though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVLY4nhmie4 I think the accident was a case of two guys going at it like it was the last lap of a championship winning race. Both tried to be latest on the brakes and neither of them were. I don't think Webb should have pulled across as he wasn't infront but thats a racing incident.
  13. Suzi Perrys alright. She's cute. great when they go to races where it doesn't rain. Parish is alright he knows his stuff, but I just don't get the same buzz out of watching it listening to Parish and Cox as I do Moody and Ryder. It's like when Murray Walker used to commentate you could see that something interesting was happening on screen but it's the commentators words that make it more exciting. I wish there was a clip of the two repsols coming together in Estoril in 2006 then you could see. It's like sitting down with your mates on a couch and watching it.
  14. That would be scary at 40mph let alone 100mph+ complete heroes each one of them.
  15. Actually scrap my last comment, he needs to win the 250cc world title this year and then move up to MotoGP, he's 23 which means he's older than Pedrosa and Lorenzo I thought he was about 18 - 19
  16. nothing to complain about on the passes, maybe Vermuluen has gone soft since leaving WSB. Probably more annoyed that a bloke on a privateer team that hasn't got a Pneumactic engine could overtake him on a Factory Suzuki. I'm amazed with JT's result. 6th without a Pneumatic engine and when he's ill. what the hell is he going to do when he's fit and got the quicker engine. Loved the King of Spain trying to get Lorenzo and Pedrosa to shake hands. That was never going to happen.
  17. that was so freaky, as they crossed the line to start the last lap, I had a funny feeling that they were both going to crash and Kallio would win, then I snapped myself out of that train of thought and watched in horror. I feel for them both, I must say after watching the replays I did wonder if something had happened to his bike or maybe the rear spun up. Thanks for clearing that up Techno. It is a shame cause I'm a Bautista fan, he's just a nice guy even when he's p***ed off he looks friendly. Hopefully he can claw back the points and still challenge for the title although I still think it's too early for him to jump up to MotoGP.
  18. Nice of Eurosport to take a break right when Hopkins and Stoner go down. It was a good session, much better than the IRTA test. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend.
  19. Definately George. Pedrosa had an advantage in the 125cc, 250cc championships but I don't think he has what it takes to win the big one. Having said that I was slagging Dani off for not developing the Honda RC212V on here and apparently the reason it is now running around the front again is because of something he said, So for that I apologise but I think this might be another Biaggi/Rossi battle and I think mentally Jorge can get under Pedrosa's skin.
  20. 1. Lorenzo 2. Pedrosa 3. Stoner 4. Rossi 5. Dovi 6. Toseland Thats what I reckon. if I get all six right then I'm gonna regret not playing the lottery instead.
  21. Cheers Matty, I'll be watching.
  22. Cheers Matty, I'll be watching.
  23. Wow some of those scooters are getting quite out of shape coming off the corners. Give them credit those roads are tight. Give them a bigger bike and let them enter the Isle of Mann TT. Not sure those gravel traps are FIM standard depths either.
  24. I must say that the F1 bosses have normally made a balls up of it over the last decade but for once this year they seem to have implemented a rule which is good. The Standard ECU idea seems quite good I like to see the cars slide a bit. Don't get me wrong I'm all for MotoGP developing new equipment, however do I think that a road going version of the MotoGP traction control system will make it on to the next fireblade, R1, 1098, GSXR, ZXRR. Not a hope in hell. Developing the tyres is good for all road users, developing better brakes, leather suits, crash helmets all good but they won't release advanced traction control with onboard computers like in MotoGP the most advanced we will get is what is on the WSB. Also I agree that there is a safety issue, however I suspect that a lot of the riders who were quite happy to be bounced about on the 990cc would be happy for traction control to be control by a standard ECU. I know it adds more danger but this ain't ballet dancing. Leave the tyres along and just bring in a control ECU for 2009 please.
  25. Polaris world have clearly broken a mirror or something. How much bad luck can one team have. I think that team can really get a bike sorted but maybe they are tuning it up too much and thats why it keeps straining the engine and breaking. Aspars team probably done the same. Poor Bradley it will take him 2 - 3 good races to get up the top of the championship now. Great result for Redding what a boy and well done to Webb too. Scott Redding was the highest finishing Brit of the weekend. 5th Scott Redding 6th James Toseland 6th Danny Webb 16th Bradley Smith DNF Eugene Laverty
