LOL I was so excited to see racing again I didn't even notice they had umbrella girls.

I noticed one thing while watching it the other night, when they were a leading bunch of 5 the Yamahas and Hondas where so smooth and controlled it was like they were on rails and then Stoner on the Ducati was wrestling that thing round. It was making all kinds of shapes out of the bends and wriggling around like a 990cc. Ducati really have squeezed every last drop of power out of that thing and good on Stoner for being able to tame it. Everyone started to think that Capirossi had lost it last year but Melandri, Guintoli, Elias, Hoffman, or Chaz Davies have been able to get anywhere near Stoner only one man has got near Stoner and that was Barros well and 1 race for Capirossi. That 08 Honda was unimpressive, They ran out of fuel unlike Yamaha who were too conservative again. I reckon it might be a top five this year. Stoner Rossi Lorenzo Pedrosa Dovi BTW prediction now at the start of the season. Hayden will lose his ride next year to Dovi.

Glad it getting good coverage but you can't beat Moody and Ryder and then throw in Mamola for good measure. Classic team a good laugh, gets all the insider scoop long before the BBC. as a test over the season, someone who watches Eurosport post when news comes up and someone from the BBC do the same, there will be a race delay between Eurosport and BBC's news. Parish knows he's stuff, and Cox is a decent bloke but it just sounds more entertaining on Eurosport see link below for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a9UmuNUtMY The guys at Eurosport hang out with the teams the riders and real feel it when someone does well you can tell in their voices.

I must say I was sat on the couch with a lump in my.... throat (get your minds out of the gutter the rest of you) I'll hold my hands up and admit that I thought JT had made a huge mistake when he signed with Tech3 just before Brands Hatch last year. I thought that the bike wouldn't be good enough and the tyres were wrong and he should have held out to get a MotoGP Honda ride. I am over the moon to say I was so wrong and a complete idiot. as Toby Moody would say "What a boy" I'm not too worried that Lorenzo got pole, it obviously would of been nice for Toseland to get pole but nice for Lorenzo too (rubs it in to Pedrosa) As Technoa and Matty have said I don't reckon the whole season will pan out like this, but while the good times roll. Well done also to Brad Smith, Danny Webb and without doubt the best ride in 125cc by Scott Redding. Brads had two seasons in the World Championship, Dannys had a year, this kids had 1 race. GO JT SUZI PERRY SAID SHE'D GET NAKED IF YOU WIN
-
Awww come on it's nice for Lorenzo too. It kinda of makes Pedrosa's weekend even worse Well done JT you are even better than we all thought you were and we thought you were brilliant

lol maybe someone should check he's done his CBT and DAS. Has there been any work from either camp yet as to what exactly happened. BTW it's worth bringing this old video out for one more showing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NW0Q7U_kYk

Absolutely amazing. I'm gonna be honest, I did think that JT would be the best MotoGP rider we have had for a while BUT I certainly wasn't expecting to see him 3rd not in the first season Go JT and Yamaha pull your b****y fingers out and get some of those new faster engines built for Toseland and Edwards. Tech3 are still struggling for sponsors by the looks of things. Hannspree seems to have stayed on as JT's personal sponsor after having a good season with him last year. I just wondered what was stopping them sponsoring Tech3 as they have stopped sponsoring Team Gresini. I suppose it could be arkward sponsoring Honda in WSB and Yamaha in MotoGP but surely sponsorship money is sponsorship money? 125cc was great although it looks like our riders will be beating up each other for the championship. Hopefully one wins and the other will win it the following season

Ahhhh is that the results of the FP that they are showing on TV?
-
yeah... gotta love that book. Sneaking around the paddock on scooters trying to sign a deal with Ducati or Yamaha. sounds like playground stuff. You can sit on my bike but don't let your team see.

Oh dear oh dear HRC. whats going on here then? I think it's kinda funny. everyone thought that the satelitte Honda's would struggle this year as they are only Valencia's 2007 bike, yet Dovi, de Puniet and the rest have been showing Pedrosa and Hayden the way. I don't think it's all Hayden's fault though, Pedrosa has been fairly outspoken about Hayden's development skills. But to be honest Pedrosa you've been on the bike and you've got a f***in tongue in your head. If the bike isn't working then tell them whats wrong with it instead of sitting at the back of the garage and pointing fingers. I hope in a way that if JT can't win on Sunday that Jorge does as it will add some spice. It will annoy the hell out of Pedrosa and it will give Rossi more motivation which as a Rossi fan I would like to see. Can't wait till 8pm

Did Melandri sign a two year deal with Ducati? I wonder if he can't get to grips with the GP08 whether he has a get out clause. I reckon you can't look out of the top 3 Stoner, Rossi and Pedrosa for the win, but new contenders Dovi, Lorenzo, Toseland and de Puniet will be up there.

It's a shame they haven't taken some with a slow shutter speed as that would create some fantastic night blurring shots. why don't they get artistic with it.
-
Wow Redding is really quick. This is his first season and I think I remember reading in MCN that he is only 15/16 years old. British riders seem to be like buses, we wait ages for a decent rider in MotoGP then four come along at once.
-
quite possibly, for as long as anyone can remember humans just wanna go faster and faster and faster. The good thing about bikes is that they are a lot cheaper to buy that sports cars and often a bit faster on acceleration anyway. plus you get the feeling of being free, no steel cage around you. lol that car and plane got owned as the kids would say.
-
Yey, we have a Brit in the top 3.... but it's not Bradley 1. S Gadea 2. M de Meglio 3. D Webb 4. N Terol 5. B Smith 6. S Redding 3rd, 5th and 6th. Not bad lads, hopefully they are all still up there after day 2.

Also I think the jump start rule needs to be looked at. In the race if you over shoot a corner and take to the run off strip as long as you don't gain an advantage or filter back in giving yourself an appropriate disadvantage then you are not penalised. Yes Corser did jump the start, however he stopped to correct his mistake and because of this got a terrible start and by no means got any advantage, so what was the need for a ride through penalty?

What a start to the season, I can't believe how much Yamaha are struggling, I suppose if you look back to the 2007 season then they didn't really click into gear until Donington/Valencia last year. It's a shame cause at the end of the season the Yamaha was probably the most sorted bike in the paddock, and yet now they can't make a set of tyres last race distance. On the up side, welcome back Honda. Those guys at Ten Kate certainly know how to set up a bike. When you look at the time they have had to develop the new Fireblade to score a 2nd place was a great achievement. Plus it looks like Kiyo and Sofulagu are getting to grips with it. what was Biaggi doing? I certainly didn't see that happening. The reason he is normally such a threat in any championship he's in, isn't because of his large tally of wins, but instead is because of his incredible consistancy. To start 16th and then get to 2nd in race one and only lose 5 points to Bayliss would have been an incredible result, still not sure if he crashed or it broke but thats 25 points gone. Then sitting in a comfortable 3rd in race 2 with time to pass Nieto he gets a rush of blood. Now he's dropped 50 points. I haven't seen Biaggi crack under the pressure like that since his battle with Rossi back in the 2001 season. I think the Ducati's will have a weight penalty for Valencia not that it will stop most of them.

wow Suzie Perry's gonna get naked. Although as much as I want to believe that Toseland could run a pace like that (as he's in my fantasy team and cause I wanna see him do well) I feel the poor lad is gonna get taken to school at Qatar, not through lack of rider talent but through lake of horsepower, unless JT gets that engine upgrade he'll get swallowed up on the straight every lap.

FROM WORLDSBK.COM The opening round saw an unfortunate start to the season for Yukio Kagayama. It has been confirmed that Alstare Suzuki's Japanese rider has a broken left collarbone from crash on lap 1 of race 2 in Qatar after making contact with Carlos Checa. Kagayama, who changed his race number this year from 71 to 34 in celebration of his Suzuka 8 Hours win, his age and his idol Kevin Schwantz, will be forced to miss the Australian Round of the World Superbike Championship this weekend and probably also the FGSport tests scheduled for Valencia on March 13-14. He is expected to return for the Spanish Round there at the start of April. In Australia he will not be replaced and his GSX-R1000 will be used by Max Neukirchner. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- and his GSX-R1000 will be used by Max Neukirchner. That doesn't make sense does it? Neukirchner was on the same bike as Kagayama anyway so what good will using his bike be?

Biaggi is a quality rider and I wouldn't be sad if he won it. I think he genuinely loves WSB and wishes he had switched earlier. but Haga, poor lad he deserves a WSB title after finishing second so many times and often when he's not been on the best bike, plus he gets it sliding..... and if you need any more reasons, he's just a fun guy. http://www.mhpstudios.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/WBSK_Donnington/01_Poduim.jpg http://put.edidomus.it/dueruote/news/foto/nl07_haga_podium_happy.jpg http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6828/vlcsnap223317oa5.jpg

well as long as the racing is good I'm not too bothered. Would love to see Bayliss win the title as he's such a down to earth guy, I would also love to see Haga win the title as he trys so hard and is a nutter and pretty cool. Glad Xaus, Nieto and Neukirchner are doing well too. I'm hoping Kiyo will get to grips with the Honda and get some wins.

What a fantastic start to the new season, looking like it's going to be another close year. Bayliss was simply awesome, he'll be sadly missed next year. how many riders could start 7th, battle through to the front, go off the track several times, battle back through and still win the race. Biaggi and Xaus look handy on their privateer Ducati's. Race 2 was amazing, I thought they were going to take each other out. Biaggi may be a very smooth rider and very quick but he needs to learn to overtake. Everytime he runs wide or forces the person his overtaking wide. Nice to see that Haga and Biaggi are back at it again, I don't think there was any love lost between them two last year and there certainly isn't now. There didn't seem too much wrong in the passing move but there was contact between the tyres and something came off one of their bikes. but still a bit of a stupid idea to go round a corner at speed one handed. Glad he's ok though looked a nasty one landing on his head. Very glad to see Team Alstare Suzuki doing so well and Max and Fonsi certainly showed they have what it takes to compete this year. All in all fantastic racing and theres more in 7 days at Phillip Island. WSS The axe murderers as the series has come to be known was as ever very lively. With only two bikes out after two corners. Johnny Rea looked like he had a good chance if he could settle in, I think he just saw Foret disappearing and started to panic a bit. nasty crash and I don't think the Hannspree garage is the one I would like to be in. The new fireblade failed to perform at all and was the fourth best behind Ducati, Suzuki and Yamaha. There is going to be a fuel engineer hiding in the Yamaha garage somewhere tonight as both bike ran out, luckily one of them finished first.

Grid for tomorrow Positive start there by three of our lads, obviously no Tommy Hill as he's injured and won't be back until round three. Not so good for Walker. lets hope he can turn it around in the race. Maybe he's still a bit soar from his crashes last week. can't wait till tomorrow.
