Oh well, everything will be spotless when im finished and then i will cross the bridges as i get to them or chuck the bike in the river as i cross
4. Are the pilot screws the ones that go to a point? If so i did remove them and they were all the way in and tight. So much so that the tips were rusted.
5. Also the black rubber thing with the needle which comes out .....can i clean that with carb cleaner?
6. Todays efforts. Will the carb cleaner clean the bowls? And i might just get a carb and jet kit.
7. Can i clean the carb bodies with parafin? Also ive got the 2 jets out that have screws on top but theres another round one with no screws thats brass and a brass tube at the top. Do they come off and if so how?
8. It's a Plastic table cloth on the dining room table Why And on the subject of screws for float bowls, have you got a small centre punch? then you could just tap them un done! And as various people said replace with Cap Head bolts. It looks like some material i bought to cover some kitchen chairs and i adored it. I would love to be able to get it again. Hubs is grinding a groove in them before he goes sailing.....im still waiting patiently mind you
9. Bit disappointed...i cant get the screws out. Most of them are mangled, ill have to leave that to his nibs. All the screws need replacing. So ill rub down the subframe ready for painting. Some people shouldn't be allowed near a screw driver

14. Richzx6r sure did. Im really enjoying it. Chuffed with the bike and really looking forward to hearing it start for the first time. Tomorrows list is Petrol tank. Empty and cleaning. Get a key cut Sand down sub frame Rear brake caliper Im actually in heaven
15. Thanks Tiggie ill look into those. Id like to do it properly as i go. Do you copper grease them aswel?
16. Took the choke mechanism off and the throttle cable. Undid the screws that clip the carbs to the block. These are fiddly and need opening up enough so that they spin. Rocked the carbs with the rubber handle of a hammer and a large screw driver wrapped in a cloth. Used a hairdryer to warm up the rubber and 3 and a half hours later they popped off. Numbered 4 tubs 1 to 4 to correspond to carbs so that anything ive taken off goes back onto the carb it came from. Blocked the holes into block with paper towel so that nothing drops into the engine. Could only get into carbs 1 and 4. The screws have been rounded off on the other 2 carbs (not by me ) . Hubs is going to sort those tomorrow. Carbs 1 and 4 are spotless inside. Would like to replace all the screws..... Took plugs out. Plug 1 perfect. 2 a little darker. 3 was half and half and 4. Was black (ill post pics tomorrow of plugs. Good productive day
