cheers guys, i did mention i had it at stock and changed a little bit,
could never get sag right on old bike but will with this but may just take it to parkitt and let a pro do it.
the dive thing I thought would be a clue to someone about where to look first from stock set up

Will the dealers not assist when I had my tracer the dealer set the suspension up for me gratis to suit my needs and did a good job
I had it sent up from Dartford buddy, so prob not, you got very good service if they did that for you

I keep hearing to avoid them too.. so did.

does seem alot that, usually a pair of tyres closer to £250. they are the newest tech by them though.

After a week with this bike its safe to say its wonderful compared to a bandit.. (well yeah)
im trying to fine tune the suspension and may still got to Parkitt tuning, but i notice when shutting off the throttle it feels to dive, now id normally adjust preload for this assuming fork oil is correct,
but with this having compression damping as well, im not sure what to adjust first OR is it normal for a bike with more punch to lift more when power added.
Ive got it at stock damping, 1.5 extra turns on preload from stock and compression at stock..
im 17st ish.
Your gonna say its worth the £50-75 to get it set correct thought arnt ya? lol

Have you tried the quickshifter yet

try all the usual gumtree, sphock etc. just a case of looking about or asking dealers who do them.

Sorry forgot to answer that bit
You should be able to adjust it as normal with the connecting rod from the gear lever to the selector shaft
yeah was just a case of loosen the lock nut, turn it to lower pedal and tighten, made a great difference. cheers

Exactly, other pops out too much, while those elegant you newer knows if they will work, but original kawi are the same so probably somewhat studied for protection.

But it wouldn’t work on your new bike,
by the way congratulations on the bike, it was my wish bike before I got KTM
what wont work on my bike mate?
which KTM you got 1290?

surprised if usb doing it but I hear hit and miss with it. will depend on make etc. as above a relay is best option and not hard to do
-
there are loads of direct bikes about so finding body should be easy, but most look nasty cos people dont look after them.
also the power commander thing you plug in does give a little boost in speed, step son has one.

That's unfortunate , but as you say , it dug into the earth with predictable consequences . The intended purpose of a crash bung is to erode away as it slides along the tarmack without creating too much friction .
the test i saw was the one they slid a bike across car park, it just slid as expected. on this bike fairing off and it bolts on easy.
-
well thats a huge bonus.
can it be adjusted so the lever a little lower, assuming this is now in control of that
-
I know to some this is daft but bare with me.
Ive never had a bike with it on, and the z1000sx has arrived and as i wanted to change the gear lever so it doesnt feel like im lifting my toe so high notice this device.
is it an actual quickshifter so i can change gear at any rev etc, or something else.
cheers

Hey all, been a while but got married and stuff lol
New bike comes tomorrow and I want to add crash protection as its cost more than the bandit ever did.
I see some say bungs are bad and sliders are better?
Any advice will be great.
hope your all ok

The mrs and I both want to move up in bike size, main reason actually to cruise at a lower rpm and a little more oomph as the 600 and 650 are quick anyway but we always look for another gear. and no dont want to mess with sprockets.
Initially we both thought about the FZ1S Yamaha, which I still love the look of. But when we saw them my mrs thinks its too large in size. (first time she ever said that) but a GSX1000F was sat near it and she loved it
Must admit I love the look of the GXS100F but it doesnt look like a big tail bag would fit on (which I own)
So, the long winded question is has anyone had or got the Suzuki and have done long tours.??
I saw the 1000z kwak but front looks really low.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the NC500 at all . I like to go up the B7076 ( See my previous posts on the subject . ) Through Glasgow and up Loch Lomond . Through Glen Coe to Fort William . Detour out to Mallaig and get the Skye Ferry or continue towards Inverness but veer off to the Kyle of Loch Alsh via Invermoriston . Then take in Eilean Donnan Castle before taking the Loch Carron road all the way to Ullapool . Then you are in breath taking scenery all the way up as far as Durness and beyond . From there you can wend your way back to Inverness via Lairg . After that it's back down loch Ness , back down Glen Coe and Loch Lomond and home . I reckon this route is more scenic and your not doing any boring bits just to get the T Shirt .
I guess we are doing it to say weve done it, but were doing the crap bit in a day or so and taking longer to do the nice bits. I dare say if we ever go again it would be a version you take and just enjoy other bits.
We go in a few days.

Id defo just go for it and get a full license. you will be so much happier and can find a bike you will be comfy on. if you think about riders with pillion and both around 12-16 stone then bikes can handle it. but one with better suspension etc will be so much better and these are bigger bikes. good luck

Ive a 40l Oxford which works well. depends how much stuff you want to take. only really need clothes for the evenings, and basic stuff under leathers.
The mrs has the oxford 30l and that holds alot too, they both expand from the photos you see.

Always have a tie wrap on as a guide and it doesnt sit too bad but Ive not fully loaded it but have braked hard ish. I think on these bottom out is 20mm so you want to be 20 mm above that at worst. im going out today so going to had a small amount of preload and a 1/4 turn of compression.
