  2. way to go. i stopped 19 months ago after having a severe angina attack and ended up with a stent in my ticker, and i was only 46. if you feel like faltering, talk to someone, anyone, lol. it does help.
  3. I bought a givi e68 backrest to go on the e45 box on the deauville. my wife wants to try and see if she feels ok being a pillion (has back problems). but as it was used there is no template to use to aid fitting. anyone got any ideas how i can get the holes drilled without the template or does anyone know were i can find a template. i've Googled and been on the givi website, but no luck.
  4. thanks a lot guys. went out for my first ride on the deauville. perhaps not as exciting as a race bike, but boy was i thrilled. so much power and torque, blew me away at how easy it was to cruise at '70' on the motorway (i do mean motorway, lol). it is indeed 'another world'
  5. lol, funny as that is what the wife said. yes, deffo your turn next.
  6. just got back from a ride out on the deauville, was fantastic. so much power and torque. very comfortable to ride and cruised at 70 easily. the engine sounds amazing. lots of protection with tall screen and fairings. still taking it easy as it's a big bike compared to the ex5 i used in training. going back out later.
  7. lol, sorry for the confusion, i call it a motorway, it's actually the A1. thanks guys
  8. PASSED. 2 minors. don't know how i did it. missed turn off from motorway, examiner pulled me into a layby and told me not to make the test route up as i go along, dead pan face too. then overtaking on motorway when he said take next exit, so had to pull into traffic, but all said and done, it's a pass. now it's bloody raining so i can't get bike from my friends storage. just want to say a big thanks to Brian and the guys at 2wheelsmotorcycletraining.co.uk for all their help in getting me onto a big bike. also a big thank you goes to you guys for all the advice and support you have given me and all the other guys/galls on here. THANK YOU

  10. oh i know what you mean, it will be fine, i'm nervous about my 2nd attempt tomorrow, but just treat it as a ride out and you will be fine.
  11. awe, sorry hun. thought you would walk it this time. i have to pass tomorrow, my instructor is going away for two weeks then i'm away for 3 weeks so i can't wait.lol.
  12. mod 2 tomorrow morning 9.07,lol. went out yesterday with my instructor, was terrible. i rode like a newby. hope i do better tomorrow. so desperate to get on the big bike. had it for weeks now and only sat on it with centre stand down, lmao.
  13. well, i got the scratch remover, and although it hasn't removed the scratch completely, it is less visible. i may try using it again. have tried several times to remove the scratch, but it doesn't seem to be getting any less now.cheers for all the help
  14. i'm going to treat myself to a new helmet. this one i want to keep as a spare.
  15. just ordered one. thanks guys, will let u know if it works.
  16. I caught my helmet when putting it down and damaged the visor. It's a small scuff just to the left of my left eye. It doesn't impede my vision but I was wondering if there was a scratch remove I can use. The visor is otherwise unmarked.
