  1. i did the same when i passed, but i asked when i took out my insurance on the provisional licence and they told me there would be no charges for altering my licence status. ask again and threaten to go elsewhere, see if they waive the fee.
  2. such a shame. i'm away for 2 weeks from today so would have but can't.
  3. sorry, missed post. a big congrats matey, well done.
  4. What model was it? HONDA DEAUVILLE NT650V TWIN v2 When did you buy it and how much did it cost? JULY 2011 £1000 Good points? very comfortable, responsive for a 650v twin. not bad mpg. plenty of storage. lots of weather protection. engines are all but indestructible. Bad points? heavy, and high seat, having mine lowered. with touring screen on you get a bit of side buffeting. with short screen on little protection from the elements. Would you get another? hmm, perhaps a newer 700, i think their are other makes out there that might be as good if not better (and lighter) Any other comments? i love it as my first big bike.
  5. craps mate, so sorry, fingers crossed for next time.
  6. yeah mate, best of luck, hope the back is ok. it's true, listen to the examiner, then just ride as though you are on your own, forget he is there. ignore him (not his instructions of course, lol). that is what they want you to do.
  7. OMG, so chuffed for you. and an examiner with a sense of humor as well.
  8. that is true. anyway, got new Michelin tyre on. roughly how many miles is best on a new tyre before going back to usual driving habits (not that i'm a speeder)
  9. got a concrete drive, and the roads are quite new round us. not sure what is going on. no one else seems to be having problems near us and our car hasn't had a puncture for years (as he touches wood)
  10. well, i really don't believe this, a second puncture in a week. this time the slime is just oozing out, so bike is off to usual place i use for new tyre. (plus it is quite worn ) fitter says it looks like bike has gone through a bunch of broken glass, quite a few surface cuts as well as a few deeper ones. can't say i remember as i try to avoid anything like that in the road.
  11. best of luck for today.
  12. well done, i was chuffed when i passed my cbt,lol
  13. i have emailed them, but no reply yet. tyre still holding pressure, went on a run yesterday, no difference in feel of the bike.
  14. can't see anything mentioned on their website so i have emailed them asking about speed rating of slime. tyre is still fully inflated.
  15. well, not even been on the bike a week and picked up a rear puncture. wasn't a flat Tyre, but down about half. was near my riding school, so popped in to see if Brian could help. now funny thing was, when i got the 125, i bought something called slime, in case i got a puncture, never needed it, but as i was off down to Yorkshire last Sunday, i popped it into the backbox. how fortunate was i. so we took valve out, filled tyre with this slime stuff, put valve back in, blew Tyre up to recommended pressure, spun it a few times, then took nail out. was blowing a gale for about 20-30 seconds, then nothing. leak stopped. i've been out on last night, checked it this morning and pressure is fine. it also says it will repair future punctures and is active for 2 years. now it says it is a permanent fix. anyone had any dealings with this.
  16. i used plenty of throttle, half clutch and loads of back brake, very little wobble and i was dead slow.
  17. bad luck. fingers crossed for next time.
  18. fantastic, congrats. all the best for mod 2
  19. I bought a givi e68 backrest to go on the e45 box on the deauville. my wife wants to try and see if she feels ok being a pillion (has back problems). but as it was used there is no template to use to aid fitting. anyone got any ideas how i can get the holes drilled without the template or does anyone know were i can find a template. i've Googled and been on the givi website, but no luck.
  20. thanks a lot guys. went out for my first ride on the deauville. perhaps not as exciting as a race bike, but boy was i thrilled. so much power and torque, blew me away at how easy it was to cruise at '70' on the motorway (i do mean motorway, lol). it is indeed 'another world'
  21. lol, funny as that is what the wife said. yes, deffo your turn next.
  22. just got back from a ride out on the deauville, was fantastic. so much power and torque. very comfortable to ride and cruised at 70 easily. the engine sounds amazing. lots of protection with tall screen and fairings. still taking it easy as it's a big bike compared to the ex5 i used in training. going back out later.
  23. lol, sorry for the confusion, i call it a motorway, it's actually the A1. thanks guys
