Between a rock and a hard place (strong language)
keith565 replied to mealexme's topic in General Chat
what happened? the problem is your contract. are you contracted to do 2 SET days a week plus any overtime you want, or is it just ANY 2 days. if set days then you can demand the days off you want (not the sets days obviously). however, as said above, it depends how much you want to be kept on. personally i would try and keep my mouth shut until i get the job permanently, then you can kick up a stink. hope it worked out ok. -

i'll shortly be doing a service on the bike but need a bit of advice. their book recommends the following oils (Recommended) Transmission oil: ROTRA MP 80 W 90. (Recommended) Gearbox oil: ROTRA MP/S 85 W 90 but i am having trouble sourcing the 85w90. any ideas what to do thanks

looking through my service manual, i've noticed that my bike has 2 sets of plugs (i know it has 4 in total being a V twin), but it's the first bike i have had with 2 different sets of plugs, pmr8b long life for the inside and bpr6es on the outside. i was wondering if it would make any difference in performance/fuel consumption etc using the long life all round. i always used NGK platinum plugs in my cars and bikes. also, how long should i leave between changing the long life ones.

well done you. good luck with finding the bike you want.

we did 3 days in Scotland at the beginning of this week with my wife and a mate. us on the norge, my mate on his BMW r1200rt. what a fantastic 3 days, sunny, very warm, fantastic roads and scenery. hundreds of bikers. we rode from Sunderland to Ayr on the first day. loved every minute of it, managed to find a travel lodge with a Frankie and Benny's next door. mmmmmm. a good nights sleep then back to frankie and Benny's for a good breakfast. then it was off to Perth via Loch Lomond, wow, and wow again, the scenery was just stunning. we stopped off for some tea at a small tea shop in the village of St fillians just after loch Lomond. then off to Perth for another night in the travelode. this time right next to a family ran pub, superb grub that night. but no breakfast, so off it was to the nearest service station before our leg home. all in all some 535 miles. then what happens, 17 miles from home i get a puncture, unable to repair it i had to wait for over 2 hours for the recovery service, by that time i had frazzled my head in the sun.lol, home anyway, and two new tyres later, looking forward to our next jaunt. here are a few pictures.

Thanks guys. Did as u said as I have been very happy with them so far. Also, they get a very good write-up.

thanks Stu. i was thinking about changing both as front will need replacing fairly soon. i have Michelin pilot road 2 on at the moment, were on when i got the bike. any thoughts on these or are there better tyres for similar money?
-
as the title says, i need a new rear tyre after getting a bad puncture yesterday. I've seen write-ups about a few but really don't know which one to go for. any suggestions. it's for a moto guzzi norge 1200.
