  1. How much would you charge to collect and deliver it ??? ...
  2. Thank you very kindly, but at the wrong end of the journey ... Many thanks
  3. Is there anyone in the Sheffield / Rotherham / Doncaster areas that can rent / lend me a single motorcycle trailer for tomorrow. Picking up a Honda CBR 600 from Stockport to bring home to Rotherham. Runs fine, 12 months MOT ... but no V5 so i can't tax it !!
  4. I'm sure there was not a smile in the paddock .... for a bit ... My life plan ... Keep fit and cycle 100 miles a month and ride my motorbikes until i'm 75 .... Then consider the safety of all around me .... then maybe an EBike and track days .... Keeping fit over 65 .. over 60, is so important ... I've done LEJOG as the youngest rider in our club at 60. My peers.. Ken, Paul, John B are all in their late, late, 70's and still cycling 70+ miles a week .... 80 miles a day during LEJOG ... So many people just give up .... I will not. Ian Bainbridge didn't give up. My friend Ed, terminal pancreatic cancer 3 years ago ... 3 years ago ..amazing survival period .. is still out there doing lots of stuff ... he's stopped flying ... but is still living ....
  5. Ian Bainbridge aged 69, has lost his life at the MGP. The second rider to do so. I'm sure his family are devastated. I'm 65, if that was to be my fate ..I would go quietly into that good night. I live in terror of sitting in a care home, soiling myself, just to get a number on my grave. Utter respect to you Ian Bainbridge for still being racing at 69. I'd never heard of you until i watched the MGP coverage on YouTube. My thoughts are with your family, but you fought until the end.
  6. Just bought a CBR 600, speedo and rev counter worked when taken for MOT last week, now they don't .... any thoughts chaps and chapesses ?? Weird that both gave up the ghost at the same time ...
  7. Thank you all folks .... was in Turkey on hols .... much appreciated .... me and jules ....
  8. Just back from the TT qualifying week .... amazing time and fantastic people everywhere ... from locals to visitors. Already booked for next years ferry.... The V-Strom was kitted out with Hepco & Becker luggage supplied as OEM by Suzuki for a range of bikes .... Next year we have decided not to camp but to do the hotel thing so the luggage is for sale ..... It's going on EBay in a week for £350 bur if anyone on here wants it ....£200. It comes complete with all the the frames and fittings and could be adapted for a number of bikes with some minor mods. The Dzus fastener fittings allow the frames to be installed in around 5 -8 minutes and the cases in < 5 minutes ...... Waterproof and lockable, the luggage comes with 2 keys.
  9. Anything on, in the Yorkshire area, tomorrow, worth a ride out to ??
  10. The latest addition to the fold ...... If anyone has any suitable spares from brackets to gear box, drop me a line ..please.
  11. Learner bike wanted, mot'd and ready to ride away ... grandson has finally cracked ...lol Distance no problem for right bike and price ...as we have a van ! Thought i'd ask here first before the wilds of EBAY ......
  12. Got it wet and dirty after a morning run out. Home to Ollerton, Newark, Kelham, Ollerton Green Hut Cafe and home. The bike came out of servicing Saturday morning 4kg lighter than it went in .... they took the belly pan off at my request ... thats right 4kg of steel ... The only time i will ride the VSTROM off road is if i have crashed through a hedge !! And £6 for a coffee and a bun at the Green Hut Cafe .... ?!? ..... I can get a cooked breakfast for less ... From their menu; "Small Breakfast £5.50 One Bacon, One Sausage, One Egg, Beans, and Tomatoes. One Toast or Bread and Butter."
  13. I'm going for the first week, practice and the first race. Travelling on the VSTROM with my grandson Connor (19 year old Engineer ) on the pillion. Camping at the rugby club.. Where do we spectate from ???
  14. I want an Aerostitch Aerocrafter one piece suit .... or similar one piece suit (anybody know of one ) ... Dressed in 90 seconds .. then move the bike, boots , helmet ...etc etc ....... 20 minutes ....
  15. The process of getting the bike uncovered, unlocked, manoeuvred through 90 deg, to face the road. Move car from end of path. Followed by overtrousers, boots, jacket, glasses, wallet, phone. Then out to the bike, ride to road ... back in to get helmet, ear plugs, neck wrap, gloves. Out to bike, start .. ear plugs and neck wrap applied, helmet on , gloves on ...... ride ......... Absolute minimum 20 mins ... usually 30 ..... But I'm worth it ..........
  16. And here is the next of the next generation .. Molly at Squires Cafe this morning ... loves her rides out on the Strom. Not a happy bunny that big bruv is going to the IOM TT with me this year instead of her. Is convinced he will drop out, he won't .... he better not .....
  17. Booked the Strom in to have it's valves done... This is the biggest service on the Strom and once done the engine can go for 50k miles before it needs doing again .. £558 Why ?, the access to the cylinder heads is terrible, half the bike need to be dismantled to get access. The price includes oil and filter change, air filter change, fresh coolant. The dealer Mechanic doing the work is also an owner and rider of the same year Strom and well experienced at doing the task. To finance the work i've sold one of my MZ 125 restoration projects, it will cover 75% of the cost, free up shed space, and allow some actual progress on the other 2 ... maybe ... I'm 65 next birthday and am becoming more and more focused on riding than restorations. I've rebuilt 16 bikes in the last 20 years to "oily rag", MOT'd, back on the road status. I've been spannering since i was 10, ( I invented the Skateboard !! ), Bicycles, fast jets, motorcycles, cars, ... trains .... now I just want to ride ......
  18. Can anyone here in merrie England recommend a dealer / mechanic for doing the valve clearances here in the UK .... ? I'm in Sheffield but happy to travel for a good job, well done ?
  19. Well, what about a 125 enduro type bike ... the reality is i want a high enduro style daily ride to commute 20 miles on b roads ... and occasional forest track rides..
  20. There's one on ebay for £4k+ .... thats what i paid for the V-Strom from a dealers .... it's nice though ....
  21. I want to buy a 125 to 250 road legal enduro bike. Must have lights. I'm going to fit a smaller rear sprocket and use it as my daily ride ... My big V-Strom as a touring bike / weekend ride ... Any recommendations that are actually available .... Anyone got one for sale ? 2 Stroke friendly home .... but 4 stroke is probably more sensible for a daily ride ... Cash waiting ...... £3k max ......
