The terrible loss this year has to have some context, 11 people have died in the UK “wild swimming” so far this year. 277 deaths in 2021.
There does seem to be something happening with sidecars this year, no injuries just fatalities, all along the same mile of track. Something is happening.
As we get closer to the 140 mile lap i suspect the solo deaths will continue to rise as well.
I do wish John McG, and Michael Rutter would consider their position.

Your right, not twice as heavy ...
My friend Derek has a near 30 year old Volvo 740 .... thats got to more carbon neutral per mile driven than any electric car ??
Answers on a postcard ...

EV generally slow using regenerative braking, hence the tiny discs on most of them.
My run of the mill estate car is ~2000kg, Tesla Model 3 is ~1600kg so I'd call your statement bunkum.
I'm confused ..... so after reposting a section of my post you still haven’t read it ... you do know what a statement is i suppose.

Is there any documentation covering this question?
The key contention seem to me to be the construction and disposal of batteries. The batteries, I understand, can be repurposed at end of EV life for solar panel energy storage (Tesla only?).
On the other side of the balance sheet is less energy used moulding, casting and forming great lumps of metal to create the engine, gearbox and drivetrain.
The rest of the construction can’t be that different can it?
I’d like to understand the balance sheet before committing.
/Edit/. Not that it’s likely to be a question for some while… ££££’s
According to the Friends of the Earth website the batteries are already turning up in land fill in Namibia ... we’ve decided that our 116000 mile transit probably has another 200k + miles left on it so we’ll take that route. Already theres discourse around the rubber and brake particles EV’s produce in cities due to being at least twice as heavy as normal cars ... but that was an article in the Telegraph so don’t quote me on that one.

We’ve looked at an EV for our primary vehicle but to be honest SWMBO is more concerned about the long term damage to the planet by the production and disposal of EV’S ... She’s convinced me ....

Stopping testing doesn't make it go away nor does it stop you suffering when you do get it
So if your feeling ill stay at home until your better ... remember, like we used to do before we lost the ability to think for ourselves ...
As for isolating ... I can ride 300 miles, fill up twice and never take my helmet off near another human or talk to a soul .... Thats one of the joys of the Motorbike.

Good morning.
After two days of sunshine, with intentions of having a nice little jaunt out on the bike the weather turns grotty. And I test positive for covid. Bugger.
Well stop testing then .... and get out for a ride on the bike

We have had a "don’t come to work if you feeling ill" policy for the 20 years i’ve run the company. We trust our staff to be honest and have rarely been taken advantage of.
Throughout the worst of Covid we only had 1 member of staff out of 32 have symptoms / catch covid ....... me. Or more likely we all had it but showed no symptoms.
I’m not as blasé as i might sound about covid ... but times have moved on and if your not testing for diabetes, heart disease, ... god forbid ... Flu, then whats the point of testing for a cold ...
-
Don’t test .... if you feel ill stay at home until you feel better ... the way we have been doing for hundreds of years .....
So looking forward to the end of free tests ......
Maybe Covid lifestyle fans could form a club .... sort of like “Dallas Buyer's Club” .... but for a different type of drug.

My riding kit is all gortex based, generic “Norman” Chinese jacket, Oxford jacket also made in China and a pair of armoured trousers....made in China ... all were relatively cheap, the Oxford was a £100, which was the total of the other 2 garments .... but all have served me well in rain and shine .... These jackets for £300 and more that we see plastered over the ads in bike magazines baffle me .... what do they do ... make toast .. ??

Had bike out today for first time since i bought it 5 weeks ago came home and forgot how to take helmet off and panicked and took claustrophobia and cut strap to get it off ,cost me £200 fekkkkkkkkkkkk
Maybe .. Motorcycling is not for you ....
Panic and Motorbikes are different planets ............
And I’m the one actually saying what many will deny they think ...
But don't give up ....
Remember ..
Motorcycling is next to flying ... I do both .. Panic has no place in either ..
Process and Routine will help ..
