  1. Price: £80

    When bought: 18 months ago.

    Good points:

Cheap, lining very easy to remove, wash and re-fit. Visor easy to remove.

    Bad points:

Noisy above 40MPH, lets water in, visor scratches VERY easily, foam inside too soft, poor quality chin curtain, poor quality visor mechanism, ventilation system does nothing and its like having a sumo sitting on your face at 70ish MPH. Oh and steams up stupidly easy.

  2. Price: £105

    When bought: 2 months ago.

Good points: The way it fastens is very easy (Micro-metric adjustment buckle is the proper name), very comfortable, no water gets in and effective ventilation system. Visor very easy to remove.

    Bad points:

This may seem like a very minor point but its very irritating... the little tab to lift up your visor is on right hand side (your front brake and throttle hand) whereas it makes more sense for it to be on the left). Tad noisy on higher speed corners because I think the wind catches it at a certain angle.

  3. The only reason I don't like my gloves is, because they won't keep my hands very warm.

So, I'm planning on getting new ones very soon.

Heated grips is the way to deal with cold hands. I wear summer gloves all year round with my grips on lowest setting in the winter and never get cold hands

Min wage is less than £6per hour?

Pitt could afford to have someone one the back with long arms to hold his hands and keep them warm.

  4. Just a question.. if you have passed your tests? DAS? Or haven't you?

Why would you want a bike restricted?

If you pass your full test when your aged between 17 and 20 (your not allowed to take DAS) then you have to have a bike that is 33bhp or below for the first 2 years. You can also do the restricted license once you are 21 but the same restrictions apply.

I'm 21 soon and trying to get things sorted of my DAS and bike. So even if I do my DAS for the first 2 years I'll be limited to 33bhp? Or have I read that wrong lol

No you will be 21 so you can take DAS... you won't be limited...

  6. I'm beginning to hate bikes as far as commuter transport goes.

Sell the 3 bikes and buy one reliable one...

And when someone runs over my one reliable bike? What then? As i won't have any spares to use! (as things are currently, if i'm honest... although things will turn out right once i have sorted these machines... i hope.)

Most people who commute on bikes manage... ohh and ebay.

  7. No but I don't really see the point.. if your riding on a cbt then you should only be riding a 125cc bike... if this is the case then it will invalidate both your insurance and your license riding it with the big bore kit. If you have passed your test and you want more power (which you obviously do) then why not upgrade to a more capable bike?

The above is a 4 stroke.

Don't really matter when you take your theory... take it when you feel that you might want to start thinking about booking your DAS.

Most bikes will come with a MOT... and you can easily sort out insurance before you go to pick up the bike. As for picking up the bike, if its far away go on the train and ride it back... if its too far for that there are many delivery services available. Make sure you take somebody that knows about bikes to look at one with you, if you don't know anybody then there might be somebody on here near you that can take a look?

Don't take out a 4k loan on a 125... Save the money because you will be bitten by the bug and no matter what you say you will be wanting a 600 in no time
