Seriously though, just contact the guy and see what he says. I think the mistake you made was presuming that he knew how to remove the motherboard and expect that he would be willing to wait for something he has spent his money to be fixed. If I was in that situation I would have told him return the PC and give him a full refund as soon as you get the computer back and have confirmed that the mobo is in fact dead. Then just sell it on to somebody else once you have sent the mobo in and had it fixed. Nothing wrong with eBay as long as you use it properly.
