  2. what Jake said Red Rubber Grease is your friend and YES it is for brakes, just don't put it on the pads!!!
  3. If the throttle snaps shut when you let go of it and the revs don't drop back to tickover, it could be sticking slides if it has CV carbs?
  4. Remove vacuum pipe from fuel tap, temporaily block it up with some tape or a small bolt. The tap will have shut due to there being no vacuum to open it and you can run the carbs dry, but it may take a while!
  5. Lookin great PC, wish I had your painting skills. Are you painting in a warm kitchen or a cold garage?
  6. Blue smoke not necessarily failed piston ring. Get yerself some tools or your bike is gonna cost you a lot of money!
  7. Take plug(s) out, after trying to start. If they are wet, it's a spark problem. If not wet, it's a fuel problem.
  8. Everybody drops a bike at some time mate. The trick is to minimise the damage to you and the bike. Wear good gear with padding and fit crash mushrooms or engine bars to the bike.
  9. If you must, use a detergent with water or a rag soaked in petrol. Clean chain thoroughly, dry it and lube with heavy oil. Do not use bleach or grease on your chain. No need to remove chain to clean it and don,t do it with engine running. Good luck.

  13. I have used strips of emery cloth to derust frame tubes and used smooth Hammerite to keep rust at bay.

  15. Yeah, what Colin said. When you bleed out the old fluid it will be milky and creamy/yellowish. The new fluid will be clear.
  16. Dead easy,put it in at master cylinder end and remove it at each caliper end. Only crack open bleed nipples and put a bit of grease around threads where they screw into caliper.Put a clear tube over end of caliper bleed nipple into a small glass jar, when you see clear fluid come out of tube, close nipple and do other one.

  19. My DID X ring Gold has done over 25,000 miles and 5 trackdays. I never have to adjust it!!!and it doesn't rust!!!
  20. Steve, I'm near Hastings normally , but I'll be at Blue boys cafe, Kippings Cross, A21 tomorrow from 1830. Pop down on yer bike and we'll have a look at it. Or have a ride down to my place in Northiam one day and we'll give yer bike a once over???
  21. May get a bit more top speed and acceleration if you fit a one tooth smaller front sprocket mate. Only cost you about £10 if you do it yerself???
