  1. Playing card in the spokes?
  2. Always heard mixed reviews about Sandys, some love them, some curse them. Delkevic seem to be alright, and usually cheaper
  3. I disagree, I found oxfords heated grips shite, I've just taken a set off. Too cold on the second setting and too hot on the third
  4. I had the same problem on a bandit. Turned out it was cheap aftermarket downpipes. The ones I put on to replace them when they cracked follow the frame, whereas the previous ones stuck out a bit.. Could also be a knackered rear shock. Or a problem with forks, or both.
  5. It's not like an insurance company needs much of an excuse to worm out of paying if you didn't say anything, then crashed.. Easy for the Beowulf guy to say that, it's not his licence Can you not buy a second hand SV exhaust off fleabay until your restriction is up?

    NEED HELP URGENT !!

New or recent? Plugs can be duff from the off. If you haven't tried brand new one, go out and buy one. If that doesn't work, try a new spark plug cap and trim an inch of the HT lead before screwing the new one on. It's a case of trial and error in your case. If you start at one end and replace everything as you work back you're eliminating everything you've replaced. They are the most simple and cheapest things to replace in the ignition system.
  7. No experience, quick google would suggest they aren't too bad. I guess chains are like brake pads for me, one of the things I don't mind paying money for a named brand. If you do get one let us know how you get on?

They make your bike wider. But I've put wider bars than standard on mine anyway. Still enough room for filtering. They work on the same principle as rawl plugs and anchor bolts. You nip up a bolt which in turn expands inside the bar and grips that way. Then just bang them in. I got the dr bike ones from J&S in the end, I much prefer them to the others I had first as they can be adjusted like normal mirrors rather than bolting in one place with a series of grub screws.
  9. We both agree it's a crock of shit and don't buy into it. £50 for a meal that would usually be half that. No thanks.
  10. I've read contrasting accounts, I read one paper yesterday that said he punched him once, and one today said he hit him up to 20 times. God knows who's right there
  11. Smashing the iPad would have been enough. Regardless of what the provocation was, I'm pretty sure if any of you fathers would end up regretting beating someone to death at the end of a 10-15 stretch for manslaughter. Who's the better father? The hypothetical one who wouldn't have hit the bloke and showed restraint in front of his kids, or the one who singlehandledly shows it's alright to lose your temper and beat the shit out of someone and subsequently misses the majority of their kids childhood because he couldn't keep his hands to himself.

Just put some on mine, makes a nice change from seeing nothing but my own elbows
  13. According to the news today he killed him with one punch. I used to scrap a fair bit as a kid/teen, it's not on anymore, too easy to ruin lives in one hit. I'd rather keep my fists to myself and not end up inside for years.
  14. Painters on sites I'm on always use rollers.
  15. Wasn't it at the top of all the sections in the past or am I thinking of something else?
  16. It just came with a chin skirt. Bit of a sod to get in, didn't want to force it. Never cleaned my helmet after a ride before. I can sense OCD kicking in, I'll be the one in my tent at the rally cleaning my helmet for three hours. No way that can't sound dodgy
  17. Just bought one of these in matt black for £380. It came with a free 'race' visor. I have come from a previous shoei albeit a much older one. I have a shoei shaped head, all the other major brands I've tried on don't fit anywhere near as well. On to the lid. It came in matt black, it's an extra £90 for graphics, and I can't justify that. They both look the same from the inside. It's light, extremely comfortable, and incredibly quiet. I have never experienced a helmet like it, I thought my last one was good. There's no buffeting regardless of what angle your head is at. Comes with a pinlock. The lining is fully removeable with cut outs for earpieces if you require, vents are all easily accessible and the visor seats home with a satisfying click. I'd go as far as to say its quieter without ear plugs than other helmets I've tried with earplugs, mainly the airoh I bought for the internal visor. Quality lid and I'm made up with it.

    Air filters..

Look pretty? Shouldn't have got a bandit then. As stu says, stay away from the airbox, hundreds of threads on the bandit forum of people who've tried and f**ked up the fuelling. Spend your money on a set of weighted fork springs, and the rear shock off a 2004 cbr600rr, both will bolt in in a matter of hours and transform the bike, it will still look the same, but it will handle better on a B road.
  20. This^^ Although I would add, a new spark plug cap is only a couple of quid, I had one that was knackered on an old CG.
  21. Would the axle stands be ok underneath the frame? As long as they don't interfere with the swinging arm and I have the weight balanced over the front end I should be ok? Reluctant to spend £110 on a stand I'm going to use once every year and a half
  22. I've purchased a wrong shock in the past, bought one for a gsxr1000 that is too long to fit the mk1 bandit but fits the mk2, so I've sold that and bought one for a 2004 cbr600rr which should bolt straight in according to a bandit specific forum. Problem I'm faced with, is I have no centre stand, it's not an issue, I'm planning on propping the swinging arm up on axle stands. I've done this before when I've had my back wheel off and it's sturdy enough. Just wondering if there's a way of pulling the back end up when I take the shock out? I've no garage, so a beam is out the question. Am I being dumb and missing something, can't think of another way.
  23. Those scooters have quite a big following. There are a couple of forums specifically for them. You might be better asking on there?

    ATF and acetone?

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/18/7eeccd47086577567b1351baedd2273f.jpg Started at 9 this morning and I'm done now, a fair few brews because it's fooking freezing. First off, when I purchased the bike, the previous owner had put motad pipes on, that's the result. No real corrosion, the crap over the collector box is where I put some high temp silicone round to stop them blowing. It's literally sheared at the welded collar. I remember when it went, I was just riding normally, then heard the change in exhaust note and pulled over thinking WTF was that. Buy cheap and get cheap. I got a bit excited during and didn't take any pictures during, but every single bolt came out without any issues or real torque from me on the socket wrench. I didn't even coat them this morning, I just thought id give them a try before spraying some more on. I have to say, I'm not entirely convinced. I'm halfway converted, but I'd like to come across a bolt I know was well and truly stuck before applying this and seeing what the results were. I was that shit scared of shearing a bolt into the head I held back a bit when I tried them dry. I felt I hardly put much pressure on to crack them off though. Also the bolts hadn't been copper slipped which is meant to be the one thing you can do to make this job a million times easier http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/18/1af2126ac8188c483c0a713796060bb7.jpg I only bought that much (50ml) just to try, but on the back of today's performance I will be buying a litre to go with the litre of ATF I have. Also a proper bottle, as the cheap spray bottles pump had gone this morning when I tried it.
