  1. i think your forgetting your not insured to ride such a powered bike until youve passed, so the reality is you cannot possibly be insured on a regular insurance to ride the full powered bike, hence why you cant turn up on a full powered or borrow a mates bike.
  2. yea look for rust, if its rusty in places its a good chance its rotting! these bikes rot if not cared for. Gearboxes are clunky so expect it make a bit of a clunk but still should change gear easily
  3. Ii suffer horrendous from nerves on tests but the best thing i done, was simply spends hours at test area riding around every sunday before test , get yourself amongst unfamiliar situations with traffic. Preparation is by far the best thing , arming yourself with experience and knowledge with give you confidence and this will shine through. Worked for me mate, no minors in mod1 or 2 both in pissing down rain.
  4. Im praying this will happen! give me a good excuse to finally pop up to see Kirsty and rats, nell and dave, gayle and ed...list goes on ..
  5. Just discovered this racing on sky motors tv or summit like that! was good full of trackday heroes going for it!
  6. First big bike. As most will notice its seen at many riding schools and with good reason very easy to ride and mechanically bomb proof. My feelings are its a very sensible bike for anyone on A2 licence , it will need restricting but going form 50 bhp to 33bhp the power / weight ratio is still very good. If your used to 125cc then this will feel like a missile, you get nice acceleration in every gear until you hit 5/6 but this bike is mid range grunt not top end. http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/tt135/dingosteve/11032012519.jpg Now theres plenty of bits of tat for these on ebay and such and they have a nice following so parts are plenty. Things i recommend are flyscreen to help deal with SOME of the wind on motorways and sliders because the engine is very exposed. Good Points: Nice bike to cut your teeth on Very forgiven Nice example of modern version of naked bike , not streetfighter cheap as chips Fuel gauge! Cheap thrills but...( see bad points ) Bad Points: You must take care of it, they will rust! brakes are a bit dire but your not racing Rossi are you? *Will not set your world ablaze* Basic All in all it is what it is, a simple budget bike that offers you no promises other than reliability and cheap smiles. Lets face it, thats what we all want!
  7. aye keith il be going if ya wana meet up can, im sure just down the road from me
  8. dare i say il be there hopefully
  9. Looks like am there!!!
  10. where abouts in north east you from? these are what you need to for bike! CBT Theory test ( bike, and yes you will be doing it again ) MOD1 MOD2 Under 21 your restricted, essentially 33 bhp bike, which to be fair is still dam powerfull for a new rider, this is for 2 years. For love of god, get it done this year , next year will be a nightmare.
  11. Agree with nella, that bonus of doing theory is you get a good understanding about what you need to do aswell, teh theory is generalised is focused on bike. If you can run a 125 and clock up the miles, Good books are available from DAS about essential skills and what the examiner is looking for.
  12. Well anyways... all done now, so its possible to get yourself through your test, get the DSA books, follow some other instructors at test centre , dont watch the pupil-watch the instructor as he will ride correctly. Be very honest and critical of your riding , oh yea and dont forget to read instructions when booking tests
  13. yep good race by checa, biaggi did well after that huge off
  14. Dont think id be busy creating a post next to tank leaking petrol, i would be checking fuel lines or draining the tank of as much petrol as i could.
  15. Welcome to the forum, nice introduction post!
  16. decided to do A2 test on 125 when i couldnt afford lessons anymore, due to mortgage , kids etc
  17. the bold and underline help with the query?
  18. yea on 500, but as time went on i wanted to do mod2 on the bike i use everyday, so had to do mod1 again on 125cc
  19. no 125, i got the collection now
  20. 0 faults, now i can i back on with mod2..
  21. many all ready know about this event that took place but im gona add it: Dont go to test centre , practice 4 hours in cold, then go for test and be told " because you took mod1 on 500cc i cana take you out on your 125 cc for A2 licence, im very sorry " To practice for 3 months every week end making 80 mile trip every sunday in the cold then not to be given the chance to do mod2 because of some fine print on back of mod1 pass sheet ( anyone actually read it ? ) £75 quid down drain! Adapt, overcome and try again!
  22. jobs a good un mate
  23. Few weeks out now. OSM/PSL is pretty much sorted, timing is just about spot on now. Only things to watch out for is other drivers doing unexpected stuff! Roads are gona be wet no doubt so 4 second rule for riding behind traffic, low lying sun is a problem even with inner visor. Its pretty much just riding around watching for Darlingtons hot spots of traffic where people get confused about what they suppose to be doing. Not sure now what else to think about when riding , im pretty much riding as safely as i can , if it aint good enough for test then il just try again!
  24. would love one of these!
