    2nd problem?

Did the caliper float ok on the pins? The ones on my Honda are seized solid, so even though the piston moves freely the caliper can't float and clamp both sides of the disk...... Are you sure it's rust on the disk and not pad material that's stuck to it? I cleaned mine up with a fine Garryflex block.......did the job ok.....
  2. Lol.......how many people work at your place?......about half of them!! ......
  3. my father in law is that very same. He also lectures you if you drive with anything less than 2 hands on the steering wheel. That is how you are supposed to drive in order to be able to keep full control. I don't see how that can be bad advise. Just a bit of a challenge when changing gear.....
  4. Also, on top of Throttled's description, have a look at the pictures from this years Challenge to get the idea.....http://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopi ... 12&t=50582 Good luck.....
  5. please try to behave you have to work with them remember No Stu.....they have to work with Roy........easy to see who got the short straw......
  6. On A14 at Kettering just over 2 miles from my destination..... Not moved for over 1 hour.....f*ck it!!
  7. No.....that entitlement is for a Trike and provisional for solo motorcycles I think........so your mum will need to do her DAS if she wants the 400......
  8. yep, with living in the sticks comes different sorts of problems... like needing to replace fence panels... Try carrying three fence panels on your bike!! This is my car from the weekend just gone: I reckon I could have got them home on my bike... Where there's a will mate.......
  9. I think the clutch plates are a bit sticky from the old contaminated oil........so they don't slip so easily when the clutch is pulled in.......Ollie has tried cleaning them, but I think soaking the plates in fresh oil overnight may do the trick........or worst case, replace the plates...... But essentially the clutch is working......
  10. We'll get round 7 ish Ollie if that's ok?
  11. Good luck with the test Ricky......1st step to fair weather biker.....
  12. Well, if your phone's got bluetooth and you can pair it with your headset it'll work fine mate......
  13. I'll try to get over tomorrow evening Ollie (Tuesday).......and we'll see what we can do......
  14. I bought copilot Premium UK & Ireland.......the only addon that I saw was the Live Traffic, which warns of delays on the route and reroutes if it's a major holdup. I use mine with a bluetooth headset, which works pretty good. I see that Copilot Premium UK & Ireland is 30% off until 5th Jan.......£13.99.....gotta be a bargain......
  15. Could be a partially blocked main jet, incorrect float height adjustment or the needle is set wrong.....or, as you say, some kind of restriction in the fuel line.....
  16. Sorry Ollie, just seen your most recent posts. I agree with Stu, don't think it's the plate stack. I can pop over during the week (evenings) or next weekend mate......just let me know which is best for you.....
  17. Erm......this is a 50cc bike.......it's supposed to be limited to 30mph........even with the limiter removed (not recommended) I would have thought 40mph wasn't bad for a 50cc. Don't believe the stories you hear of people getting 70mph out of their 50cc bike..... I think you're chasing moonbeams mate worrying about getting it to go faster......and possibly making the bike illegal for a 16 year old. Yes, I agree that limiting a bike to 30mph is crazy.......but that's the law......
  18. Have you replaced the spark plug.......2-strokes can foul the plug causing it to run rough at the top end. The RD350 that I had years ago wouldn't get over 80mph if the plugs had been in there for a couple of months, but would hit 100 with new plugs........obviously when tested on a private road......
  19. Bent selector forks?
  20. If you plan your route at home it doesn't........but even if you're out and about once it's plotted the route that's it.......I've certainly not had issues with it rinsing my data allowance......

    2nd problem?

Could possibly need the rear master cylinder rebuilding too......a kit for that shouldn't be too pricey......
  22. Sorry mate......just had a mental picture of the cat playing with the Christmas tree lights in National Lampoon's Christmas.......bet you didn't have any cat sh*t in that flower bed......
  23. Cheers Neil........hope you have a good Christmas too...... Enjoy your break........and don't drink too much.....

    1st problem?

Looking at the links I think I'd be inclined to remove the clutch cover and inspect the Neutral light switch......just incase.....
  25. I've got Sidi Black Rain Evo's......which are ok......but they're not so waterproof now... TCX boots gets some good reviews.......supposed to be pretty tough.......read a book where the guy wore a pair of TCX Infinity boots on his round the world trip.....and was still using them after he'd got back......
