  1. I assume that you've got fuel in it?.......also try starting it with the filler cap open in case the tank breather is blocked and it's creating a vacuum in there.....
  2. We'd probably need a bit more info mate.....like what make and model of bike....and what actually happened. I'd start with checking the battery voltage....just in case it's dropped too low to run the ignition circuit.....
  3. Rennie did say that they have a couple of Static Caravans on the site that may be available for hire.....
  4. Nice one mate......congrats..... I see you've wasted no time in getting the 125 up for sale..... Good luck with the new bike hunting.....
  5. The Kriega bags come in different capacities and can be joined together for flexibility..... http://www.kriega.com/uscombo30-drybag/ Yeah, the Topbox thing was a lash......but he said that at the end of a days riding all he had to do was unlock the box from the base and carry it into the hotel or place he was staying.......nice and easy.....but I was just throwing a couple of ideas at you that could be possibilities.....
  6. Another alternative is what one of my colleagues does on his FZ1....he bought a secondhand seat fairly cheap and also a top box and base....then screwed the base to the seat. So when he goes touring he swaps to his "touring seat" and puts the topbox on there.....and when he's not touring he puts the standard seat back on....he says it works a treat......
  7. Personally I'd go for Kriega stuff.......some of these panniers and tailpacks with rain covers aren't very waterproof....whereas my Kriega tailpack survived some biblical rain in Wales last Whitsun without letting a drop inside......but it comes at a cost..... I also have an Ortlieb drysac which I picked up at a bike show fairly cheaply which is also completely waterproof, but needs straps or bungees to hold it on the bike......
  8. I think that BonnieBird is right.....and alarm/immobiliser may be a good idea....but it won't add any value to the bike. A very big chain and something to chain it to are probably the best deterrents......disk locks aren't a lot of good on 125's as they are fairly easy to lift into a van IMHO.......
  9. Check the connections around the ignition switch.....and give the switch and connections a good squirt with wd40.....
  10. If you can't beat him, join him.... eh, Rach.....
  11. I'd add that you'd probably be best off winding the adjuster on the lever right the way in before making the adjustments to this end of the cable......then you can fine tune the adjustment up at the lever end.....
  12. Moved to the Bike/Helmet Camera Reviews section......as it didn't really sound like a gloves review...
  13. Spot on Cat.......experiment with it a bit and you'll soon see which way you need to adjust it.....
  14. Yep...Matty's right....there's normally some sort of adjustment at the other end of the cable from the lever end......I could tell you where it is on a Triumph 1050 engine.....
  15. This says it's a front sprocket bolt...... http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/YBR_ ... et_-_Bolt/ Which exhaust bolts are you talking about.....the header stud nuts....or the ones holding the silencer to the frame?

    Forum Rally!!

15th.....as I'll be an even older git on that day....
  17. I'd be checking the connections and wiring to the CDI......sounds like you may have a bad connection around there......
  18. Sounds like the vacuum hose for the fuel tap is missing.......you could try putting the tap to the Prime position and trying it again to confirm.....but I wouldn't recommend running it like that for any period of time.....
  19. Is it a mechanical drive or electronic?.......if it's mechanical it's probably the cable broken......if it's electronic, well.....could be wiring, tacho mechanism, signal from CDI box........
  20. Yep.....Red Rubber Grease......helps the pistons move more freely in the calipers and stops the seals getting knackered out by the piston sticking to them and tearing bits out of them......
  21. As you will have had the tank off it may be that one of the fuel lines is kinked or not connected properly......lift the tank a bit and have a look at the fuel lines.....
  22. I'm not sure mate.....but I think there may be some generic PinLocks that can be used on other lids......but, as I've never used one myself you're probably better waiting for someone who has to reply......
  23. I didn't mean to p*ss on your parade mate......just warning you to be a bit carefull with it really.......but, if it's cheap enough, it may be a good starting place until you can get yourself onto a 125...... Really give it a close looking over......a bike that's less than 2 years old that's had a new radiator and several other bits kinda rings alarm bells for me......
  24. When you say it won't kick over.....do you mean that it won't start on the kick starter or do you mean that the kick starter doesn't turn the engine over?...... TBH it's Chinese and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole......but I'm getting fussy in my old age.....
  25. If the bike will start with a bump start then the chances are that the battery is too flat to be able to start it any other way.......and if the bike will start and run after bumping it sounds like there's probably not too much else wrong with the engine......but, again, it's very difficult to diagnose without actually standing in front of the bike......
