  1. No.....I just got the UK and Ireland maps as I use it mainly in the car for work....... But, if you're thinking of taking the bike abroad it may be a consideration.....
  2. missed my reply then its only for windows pc not phones Yeah....Tyre is only for Garmin or TomTom sat navs.......won't work on my Samsung either...... I put CoPilot on my S3 and I can plot a route with a number of Waypoints......so have a look and see if they do CoPilot for your iPhone Ricky......
  3. Gonna hold you to that Moo......
  4. Not sure if we'll go.....depends how we feel at the time..... Sat on lots of bikes at Brum.....so don't really feel the need to go and sit on the same ones again......
  5. F*cking loving the enthusiasm - you're getting me hella excited about bikey season starting again soon-ish. MISS YOU AND BONNIEBIRD AND EVERYONE ELSE SO MUCH!!!!! Missing our Tuesday evening meets and chats at the Marina.....but hopefully when the warmer weather arrives it'll all be sorted...... There's loads of bike things going on....so I thought I'd throw a few out there to whet people's appetite....and maybe get some others posting meets and events too......
  6. But once charged and running just check the voltage at the battery.....just to make sure your charging circuit is OK.....
  7. Be good to see you (sober) again mate..... and not in a nurses uniform either......I still bear the emotional scars.......
  8. For those further South that couldn't get to the motorcycle live show in Brum just before Christmas....... At the Excel Exhibition centre in Docklands - 14th - 16th Feb 2014. http://www.mcnmotorcycleshow.com/index.php
  9. Yep.....but it's nearly a month later this coming year Alan......so lets keep fingers crossed......
  10. I know this is a looonnnngggg way off yet.....but lets get it in the calendars early....... Brackley (near Silverstone) Sunday 17th Aug. No website for 2014 yet.....but I'll post up when it comes on line......
  11. There's a nice route from Great Dunmow (just off the M11) down to Chelmsford, where I am, along the A1060. Meet me along the way? DL Yep....no probs mate.....we try to avoid the motorways if possible.....with the exception of last year, when there were snow flurries in the air....and then it was a "get there as quickly as possible" route...... We'll sort times and meeting places a bit nearer the time......
  12. Well....there's your target date then Ollie......
  13. Another date for the calendar.......Sunday 11th May 2014...Ashley Martin Memorial Ride in support of Magpas...... Waterbeach, Cambs (A10) to Hunstanton Sea Front There is a new start point this year....and also a £5 registration fee......so anyone planning on going should register beforehand......follow the link below..... We've done this that last few years and there is normally a good turnout of bikes....... If anyone locally is planning on going post below and we'll make rendezvous arrangements ahead of time..... http://www.ashleymartinmemorialrideout. ... y2014.html
  14. Right.....lets start getting a few bikey events lined up for when the weather (hopefully) improves..... Southend Shakedown.....a run from the Ace Cafe, London to Southend Seafront which takes place every Easter Monday. This year this falls on 21st April. We'll probably go....although we tend to go directly to Southend rather than via the Ace Cafe.......so, if anyone is interested from this area (Cambridge/Huntingdon) we'll sort something out..... Others, please use the Rideout section to organise local meeting points and times..... http://www.acecafeevents.com/southend.html
  15. It sure is a small world.......
  16. You may fins that the handguards may hit the fairing when you are turning near max lock......but most of these handguards can be fitted and removed pretty quickly....so once the weather improves you can whip them off and save them for next winter.....
  17. Yeah....it's pretty Sh*te out there at the moment....and it'll be dark in a couple of hours too.....
  18. Welcome to TMBF mate....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... Definitely go for the DAS mate......no point in messing about.....especially as you have plans like those..... A bike will only go as fast as you let it.....so a bigger bike will only take off if you give it a big handfull of throttle.....and the bigger bikes generally have more torque....so you can potter about at lower revs with a pillion on the back without the bike bogging down, which is what a smaller capacity machine would tend to do..... Obviously just MHO.......your choice ultimately.....
  19. See how you get on Ollie......I can pop over for a bit if you need a hand though......
  20. Clicking solenoid is often due to insuficient voltage to operate it.....either due to low battery voltage or loose/corroded/dirty battery terminals......or sometimes the solenoid itself. First up will be to check the battery voltage with everything turned off (>13.0v) and then check it with the ignition on (>12.5v but steady....not dropping rapidly)....then hit the starter....if it drops right down then it's either the battery is shagged or there's a loose connection somewhere in the circuit which is dropping the voltage when a higher current is being drawn.....
  21. Multimeter is the main thing Ollie....but get some WD40 if you don't already have some....just to give the electrics a squirt as maybe some damp has got in there..... When you say it won't start....is the motor turning over OK? Also go round the battery terminals and make sure they are really tight and clean.....and also check the earth connection to the engine isn't corroded or any other earth connection corroded. Also check the electrical connection to the starter solenoid that they are clean and tight and to the starter motor itself too..... Let me know how you get on.....
  22. If yours are ceramic coated just be aware you need to set aside a lot of time and elbow grease as its a right pain in the arse to get off And you need the pipes off the bike to really get at them...... Yeah....gotta agree Stu...the shiny finish is much better......
  23. Nice one Stu......was wondering how you were getting on with the bike..... Bit of an a*se about the exhaust hitting the swing arm bracing......one job always creates another one..... Did you think about getting the exhaust re-coated with ceramic rather than stripping it off?
  24. So.....if you complete the cbt there is no entitlement added to your license? If that's the case then does it matter what license you hold? Do you get a certificate on completing the cbt.....which you need to present when applying for das or a2? Can't get to grips with the new license laws......
  25. Depends where the other exhausts are made mate.......Chinese chrome is to the same poor standard as the rest of their metalwork......but if the exhausts on eBay are made in the UK they may have better chrome that won't rust so easily......but you'd still have to keep them clean and polished as any chrome will rust.....it's just the cheap stuff rusts and pits so quickly they're shot before you can blink......
