  1. As long as all the paperwork for your bike is in order I don't think the examiner will be too bothered......however, if it had removeable baffles you may want to do the test with them in......just to create a good impression with the examiner...... BTW....Welcome to TMBF mate....... go over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself when you get time.......
  2. Good luck mate......just try to relax and ride smoothly......
  3. Triumph Speed Four?........a few low mileage ones around the £2000 mark.......
  4. My Kreiga tailpack is 100% waterproof......I tested it thoroughly in Wales on the Whitsun weekend..... I didn't want a rack and topbox on the Speedie.....it would just look wrong.....
  5. I use Mucoff chain cleaner....and other people use WD40.....but meths is probably OK.......just don't try cleaning it with the engine running and in gear.....
  6. Well......me and Bonniebird went there last night........it was a bit quiet......only one other "official" bike turned up.......and a couple on separate bikes just happened to stumble upon the pub..... But it's a nice pub....and there's some good roads around there.....and I guess it is August, so some folk will be away......so we'll probably try it again....maybe next month if the weather is still holding.....
  7. Here you go mate.....this page should tell you all you need to know...... http://www.bikelicence.co.uk/

    engine change

Like Stu I don't know for sure......but if I were a gambling man my money would be on it not fitting.....
  9. thankyou, have just re-booked, so here's hoping. Good on you......hope you're successful this time.....but don't get too hung up about it.....we all had to learn at some stage......
  10. A1 test....that you take on a 125cc bike and if you pass will allow you to ride a 125cc bike... So....if you passed you could ride on motorways and take a pillion.....on a 125cc bike......personally I don't think I'd bother......wait until you're 19 and take the A2 test......
  11. I misread your post first time.....so, yes, it's likely to be a blown fuse..... Find the fuse box and check all the fuses......and replace it.....but disconnect the tail light assy.....and then plug one bit in at a time to see if the fuse blows again.....
  12. Yeah....we'd need to see some piccy's in order to be able to help really.....

    Is it cheaper?

There are Internet tyre suppliers who have a list of recommended fitters......but normally you'd have to take the loose wheels to them........
  14. I think we plan to check it out tonight and see what it's like.......will report back.....
  15. Double check all the wiring to the rear light cluster......and make sure the earth connection is ok. Disconnect the wire to the number plate light and try again if you suspect that......
  16. They ran out of burgers Neil.........
  17. There's a bike night held at the Crown & Cushion pub in Great Gransden (SG19 3AT ‎ ) on every 3rd Wednesday of the Month. Next one is tomorrow night (Weds 21st Aug)......so I guess we'll see how we feel as to whether we go along or not.... The guv'nor of the Pub is a biker himself...as is his son.....so it should be a reasonable meet.....and I think he does Burgers for those that need a little snack too.... I'm on their mailing list.....so I'll try to put up reminders on here for those that may be interested....
  18. Everyone is welcome Nienna........keep an eye on this section for meets.....and maybe see you next week?.....
  19. If you're handy with a multimeter the troubleshooting chart in the link may help..... http://www.electrosport.com/media/pdf/f ... iagram.pdf

    Replacing Brake Pads

I used to use carbone lorraine bob and have done for years but thought I would try EBC on a recommendation of a lot of TL owners and I must say I am really really impressed as in I think I will stick to them they feel better then the carbone lorraine Cool Stu.....I think the Carbone Lorraine pads are getting harder to get hold of now....changed their name and distribution I think......so I may need to experiment on the next pad change.....which won't be for some time hopefully.....

    Replacing Brake Pads

Sintered pads can wear the disk rotors a bit more.......but these days the manufacturers have improved the material so that they don't wear them as much as they used to..... One thing you don't want to compromise on is your brakes.....

    Replacing Brake Pads

Well Cat....as the pad material wears down the caliper pistons need to move further out to compensate.....so the fluid moves down from the master cylinder towards the calipers.....

    Replacing Brake Pads

The HH are sintered......and I'm guessing that the GG are organic (made out of Horses.... ).......so as Stu says the HH ones are likely to be a bit better. Personally I use Carbone Lorraine pads on my bikes......and they work pretty good IMHO.....
  24. Dunno why....but the thread about Zod reminded me of this..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwgWsE2k4eA .
  25. I guess the usual time Darren......although I'm working in London tomorrow....so I may be a little late....but I'm sure Mandy will be there around the usual......
