  1. Yeah....normally just plug into a socket somewhere, often under the seat or side panels. Obviously you'd need one that runs on 6v....which could be harder to come by. Firstly if I were you I'd locate the flasher relay and unplug and replug it...just in case it has a bad connection. The other things to check is that you have a good ground connection to either the headlamp shell or the rear light cluster as a bad earth on either of these could stop the indicators from flashing. Check with the guy what type of indicators he fitted....just in case he put LED ones on.

Yeah...there's a lot of guys on here that are real useful with these sort of problems......East Anglian Biker, Colin the Bear, Megawatt, Ingah, Fozzie, .........the list is almost endless......
  3. Sounds more like a dodgy flasher relay. Did you get LED indicators fitted? If so, you would need a specific relay for them as they don't work the same way as normal bulb indicators.

Thinking of turning it into a 2 wheeled Monster Truck then Jamie.....

    help...

oooohhhh...that's a tough one to diagnose......could be piston rings gone allowing pressure in the crankcase (should have a crankcase breather anyway....but could be blocked). Main bearings and oil seals gone.....does it knock when it runs or a rumble coming from the bottom end of the engine? Sounds like it'll need an engine strip to investigate to me. I'll leave it for some of the other guys on here to have a think and see if they can come up with anything else that could do that. Good Luck, Bob

    Tools list

Thinks it's a Ducati then...... Deffo a socket set.....nothing worse than rounding off nuts on the bike with an open ended spanner. And if you are going to be doing much maintenance also invest in a Torque wrench......cheaper than a new sump pan because you overtightened the sump drain plug......not that I ever did that of course....
  7. Weather permitting.... Oh....and work permitting too....
  8. Hey Pitt....it's the result that counts......how you get there is superfluous........ Good luck with the Theory, Mod1 & Mod2...... Funny you said earlier about friends and family worrying about you on a bike......I'm 53 now and my Mum & Dad still worry about me riding a bike.....and my first bike was in 1975!!.... Bob
  9. Just got back....great run and a pub lunch too.....what more could we ask for.... Martin675....we waited until 10:45 but then everyone was getting a bit hot in the gear, so we had to push off.....sorry mate... Bad luck Ash......bit of a bu**er having to work on a nice sunday like this..... Jayne....what can I say......there is such a thing as mornings on sundays you know.....not that you've ever seen one... Thanks to Roadrunner for organising this.....and the guys who joined the run for making a great day out..... Bob
  10. Hey Malc...no probs....see you there 9:45-10.....glad to have you along.... Bob
  11. Well done Pitt.......it's only when you start riding regularly that you really "learn to ride".... Have you sorted a bike yet? Bob
  12. Be glad to have you along mate. You'll be looking out for a Fazer 1000, Gixxer 750, Bonnie and a Speed Four so far....+ anyone else who's up for it......

  16. Unfortunately not Neil.......out there carrying out a training course for a week.....oh Happy Days...
  17. Dodgy connection somewhere......or maybe a sticky relay.......I'd need to see a wiring diagram to work out what it could be......
  18. Damn....I'm flying out to Germany at 14:00 on that Sunday.....gonna be a real shame to miss this...
  19. I love that picture of Aaron......looks like he thinks the bears are going to explode or something.....
  20. Did you take plugs out and check the colour? If it's running that weak you may need to up them to 115 or 120....possibly higher but it could be a bit of trial and error.....
  21. Keeping everything crossed for a good weekend.......... I'll post a bit nearer the time for actual plans if the weather is looking favourable....
  22. Run it and see what colour the plugs are before doing anything I'd suggest.........May not need rejetting or maybe only a very small increase in jet size.
  23. Good news......thanks for reporting back. It's always nice to hear what fixed some of these problems....
  24. Yeah....I've used that stuff too. You can also get metal putty from Maplins and the like which is another fine bodge emergency repair.......

    clutch on 1996 cr250

Sounds like something is missing.....so a strip and investigate could be the order of the day here.... I think you should try to replace the sheared bolts. The clutch plunger should operate on the Thrust bearing which will push the clutch plates and remove the pressure from them allowing the clutch to slip. But there should be springs that the plunger is pushing against that forces the plates together when you let the clutch out. There is something very wrong here and I think you can't avoid a strip down of the clutch.....replace the broken bolts and check the mechanism against the drawings in the manual. Good Luck.....
