  1. Personally I wouldn't drill the bars......cut the lugs off the switchgear and then wrap some electrical tape around the bar for the switchgear to clamp onto.....
  2. I take my hat off to you Roxyy.....another epic tour......
  3. Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... Not a dumb question at all.....never be afraid to ask anything you're not sure about on here...... Anyway, the sidestand switch is normally mounted around the pivot point for the sidestand.....normally a black plastic square with a wire or 2 coming out of it and a plunger that is operated by the stand itself.....
  4. Hook up TuneECU and reset the TPS and see if that helps things....
  5. These outside factors shouldn't be a concern really......it's about anticipation and awareness of them......and that's the skill you need to develop on the bike.....you need to be prepared for when one of them does something stupid because that's exactly what they're gonna do...... Good luck with the MOD2.....relax and ride your normal ride and you'll be fine.....
  6. I'd start with resetting the TPS......you can do this using TuneECU or by starting the bike and without touching the throttle leave it to idle for 10-15 mins and see how that goes..... TuneECU is worth getting for your bike......it's free and you only need to buy a OBD2 USB cable (£10 off eBay).....it'll let you monitor the sensors on the bike and see any error codes.....as well as loading ECU maps......
  7. Edited the title to include Wanted.......and I thought it needed to be a bit more specific for what you're after.....
  8. edited the title - please note the red bit at the top of the page.....
  9. Dunno if the old café is still in West Kingsdown......it used to be called Johnson's café......my dad used to go there on his bike back in the early/mid 1950's.....Gorse Hill (between Farningham roundabout and West Kingsdown) used to be called Death Hill.....my dad said that there used to be loads of bikers killed down there from racing from the café to the roundabout and back...... There's a popular bikers café down at Wrotham Heath......can't remember its name though.....
  10. Hi mate......check these guys out for Chinese bike parts.....https://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Wemoto also do various bits for a range of Chinese bikes.......
  11. Welcome to TMBF mate. ....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ...... You'll likely need to go onto a Bandit and Gixxer forum to find that sort of info out.......or ask on the 100% Biker Facebook group......it's a bit specific for a general biking forum I think......

    new jet

It depends on the system you fit......but there's a good chance you'll need to rejet the carbs......
  13. Sounds like the exhaust collector box......they're well known for rotting on many bikes.....A replacement exhaust system may be needed......
  14. Congrats mate......1st step of the journey completed.....
  15. Where's the camera mounted mate?......Sometimes a solid mounting is better than a flexible mounting......
  16. What am I likely to learn from these courses though? A few people have said about them in this post alone, but I don't know the exact benefit. A better chance of staying alive on the bike, mate........
  17. One of the apprentices at my first firm had a bond bug.......until it got nicked.....
  18. Some of Met Police run Bikesafe courses that include 125's.......we'll worth the investment in time and money IMHO.......
  19. Nice one, mate.......did you get any pics?

    No drive...

Yeah.....Sidestand switches have been standard on most bikes for well over 20 years now.......
  21. Good, it increases my stopping distance and im still running mine in. Dongle to kill abs will be ordered asap When I did driver training in the car a few years back and ABS was just really getting more common our instructors emphasised that maximum braking efficiency was achieved just before the ABS kicked in.......and we were trained to find that point. ABS doesn't stop you quicker......but it does allow you steer when it's operating.....so we also did avoidance manoeuvres as part of the training.......going through a pair of cones at 70mph towards a wall of cones with a gap either side and a set of lights connected to a Speed sensor.....when the left or right light came on you stood on the brakes and steered into the box of cones to the side of whichever light came on..... The point of this is that we were trained on how to use ABS.......and when not to......
  22. Yeah.....Some wire wheels on a dremel will do the job nicely...... You could touch up the rough bits with some smooth hammerite after cleaning up with the dremel .....
  23. Clean them up with wire wool/wire brush/ emery paper.......then coat the areas with ACF50. ....... How old is the bike?

    No drive...

Will it run ok with the bike on the centre stand? If it cuts out with no load then it could be a shagged gearbox.....
  25. Looks like an import to me.......Most later CG's have a round headlight for the UK......
