  1. If one of the washer tabs is bent up against one of the flats on the nut it ain't going nowhere.......
  2. Your chain tension is OK? .......A loose chain can cause jerky gear changes.....
  3. In my industry a lot of the engineers are time-served apprentices......Therefore it's a fairly aging workforce with a good number heading very quickly towards retirement........and barely a degree between them! But the majority of them are extremely good, practical engineers.......With a wealth of knowledge that will sadly disappear in the not-to-distant future. ...... Anyway.....back to NearOn's dilemma......what sort of things float your boat mate?.......The most rewarding jobs are the ones you enjoy doing.....so turning that around, what sort of things do you enjoy that could offer work? And what sort of training would be required......and are there companies that would offer this training as part of your personal development? Some companies actually prefer people with little previous experience of the job, so they can be trained more easily on the company's specific products. Make a list of possible jobs that you'd like to do and then have a look on Jobsite, or any of the other job sites and see if there's anything of interest......
  4. Is there any oil leaks from the shock or fork legs?.......sounds like it needs some tlc......

  6. Yep....another for the Michelin Pilot Road 3.......mine are just getting to the point of needing replacing after approx 9000 miles.....and that's just because the shoulders on the front are starting to wear......still plenty of meat left on them.......
  7. Well done Aerodyll. ......happy days mate.......bike shopping now?......

  11. Better make sure the curtains are drawn then!......
  12. I'd make sure one is fitted when you get a new sprocket nut on there.......
  13. Not me now......head cold is not getting any better.....so I'll not risk riding the bike while I'm feeling so sh*t......
  14. Happy birthday MrW......hope you have a good'un mate.......
  15. Something like this...... http://www.rawpowermotorcycles.co.uk/Mobile/MBSCProduct.asp?pdtid=15028471" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  16. Don't they have a washer between the sprocket and nut that you bend up onto one of the flats on the nut to stop it coming undone?.......there's certainly one on the front sprocket on my Speedy.....

  20. I'm not sure if this is a wind up, but I just had a phone call to say that I'd won £250 cash or tickets to an Elvis tribute night...........It said to press 1 for the money, 2 for the show........
  21. Good result, Throttled........but it sounds like a needlessly stressful time for you......and a waste of court time! Glad that cloud is lifted from you anyway.....
  22. Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you get chance..... Deffo sounds like bad throttle cable routing...... May be worth getting a secondhand exhaust......just incase chopping that one doesn't work out.... I'm gonna move this to Pitstop as it's more relevant there.....
  23. My money is for the lad being from Temple Smell. When I lived in Dartford it was always Temple Smell......but these days I think there's several areas that'll give it a run for its money in terms of scuddiness....
  24. Leather is not normally waterproof....unless it has a waterproof membrane or liner...... I'd say your best bet is Textiles......and Goretex if you can get it.....but that's pretty unlikely with your budget unless you go secondhand..... A lot of folks reckon RST gear is good.....I don't know though because my textile gear is either Triumph or Rukka.....
  25. The yoof wheelying his off-road (no number plate) dirt bike round the roundabout for the M25 at the top of Dartford this afternoon......yep, complete with his trackies, hoody and Pikey Nike's!.....
