  1. If you use this GIVI website you choose your specific bike model and they show what brackets etc you need http://www.givi.co.uk/my-motorcycle I used it an then found this Italian website. I saved £50 on getting them anywhere in the UK and they were delivered within 3 days, you get a tracking code so you can track their progress across Europe. I also used the same Italian company for my GIVI screen. I have been really impressed with their unbeatable prices and Customer Service http://www.accessorimotostore.com/
  2. Yep I use WD40 as well
  3. Is anyone going to this next weekend? I am hoping to go with the Mrs, hopefully the weather will be better than this weekend I want to show my support for the circuit with the trouble it has had over recent years. http://malloryparkcircuit.com/event/mal ... e-bonanza/
  4. These bikes arent just for new riders. I have been riding for 10 years and traded in my FZ1S Fazer for the CB500X a year ago next week. I mainly use my bike for commuting and wasn't using the Fazer to anything near its full potential. The CB500X ticks all the boxes for me, I have done 4000 miles and in that time I have averaged 73mpg mainly city commuting. When I do go out with the Mrs as pillion it still handles really well and cruises easily at 70mph at 5,000RPM I have fitted top box and panniers and I believe it is a truely great alround bike. For £5400 brand new you can't go far wrong. Yes it needed a valve check on the first 600 mile service but just haggle with the dealer and get it included. After this they only need checking every 16,000 miles. The 2014 models don't need the valves checking at 600 mile service.
  5. I think Scott Redding is going to be the most successful rider Britain has had since Barry Sheene.
  6. If the racing is as good as the weekend so far along with the big crowds it's going to be one that is remembered for years to come.
  7. The exhaust still has the baffles in mate. The first service cost me £150 and it took them 5.5 hours so not a bad price and that was an approved Honda dealer I always use. I have the exhaust, rim tape and the Honda hand guards so far and I am waiting delivery on the GIVI rack and top box which I ordered from a company in Italy on Wednesday and it should be here tomorrow, £35 cheaper than buying it from this country!! I don't get buffeting above 60mph but I'm only 5ft 8in and I have my screen on its highest setting (the standard screen is adjustable) Honda do a taller screen but I'm not sure how much it costs, I'm sure other companies make cheaper alternatives. Here's some photos of mine
  8. I have had my CB500X for about 5 weeks now and it's just had it's 600 mile service. Its the best all round bike I have owned in 10 years and 12 bikes, I traded in my FZ1S Fazer for it. I was worried about the lower bhp but I just love the bike, easy to ride and commuting 10 miles each way into Birmingham City centre I get 78mppg!!! The only negative point I have is the standard exhaust is far too quiet so I fitted this IXIL Hyperlow silencer, now it has a nice rumble and pops when closing the throttle. 9. I have been riding my CB500X for about a month now with Oxford panniers and they haven't been an issue riding or filtering
  10. Get a Honda NC700 http://www.ridermagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/12-Honda-NC700X-storage.jpg
  11. You might want to get a cheap waterproof backpack cover for it.
  12. Fingers crossed Haslam is back for Donington, I like his helmet design for the British rounds. http://www.whyarai.co.uk/rx-7-gp-haslam ... ed-edition
  13. Oh no I agree I have watched it and always will, being in area you live in and recognise was just a bonus
  14. No Birmingham Paramedics I have always watched it to see if I could spot myself walking around Birmingham of a lunchtime
  15. Last week I filled my details in on the Honda big weekend competition website and was given a code to take to a Honda dealer the weekend to see if I had won a prize. I wasn't expecting to win but thought it would be a good excuse to have a look around. I gave one of the salesman I know the code and when he checked it I won a days off roading at the Dave Thorpe Off Road centre in wales. They contacted me yesterday with available dates and I am doing a days Enduro on 7th September. This is something I have wanted to do for a while so really excited. Apparently there were a lot of winners of various prizes. Did anyone else win anything?

    Bored...

I had to ride into work this morning and got absolutely soaked !! Looks like the rain has stopped here now though so hopefully it will be the same when I leave at 18:00
  17. Its now official. Ten Kate Honda team next year will be sponsored by PATA and the riders will be Rea a d Haslam. Should be a good team they just need a big upgrade to the Blade. They will have to wait until 2014 for that though
  18. Has anyone tried these? Looking for some panniers, the hard ones are way too expensive but saw these soft ones that are so easy to remove and the rails are easy to remove as well. Just wondered if anyone had tried them? They are about £230 for my FZ1 http://www.motohaus.com/acatalog/SW_Mot ... _Sets.html
  19. If it stays like it with The British round being 1st September the weather has been really good at that time the last couple of years
  20. According to Loris Caparosi on Twitter this s next years provisional calendar with Silverstone 1s September. Not sure how true this is but should be better weather than in June. http://pbr24.photobucket.com/albums/c44/bobby1978/Screenshot_2012-09-20-21-06-19_zps3e8d9378.png
  21. I went yesterday, don't know if it was better or worse than previous years because it was our first time but I got a bargain on textiles and the Mrs got waterproofs for a fiver. My nine year old son loved the stunt shows and my four year old daughter laughed so much at some of the fancy dress moped endurance riders I thought she was going to wet herself. We enjoyed it and had more fun than at recent years at the NEC show which we don't need to go to now because we got better bargains yesterday.
  22. I read today its between Rea, Redding and Bautista for the Gresini Honda ride
  23. I would have liked to see him back in World Superbikes, he was amazing to watch on that R1. Yep unfortunately its where you are born and not your talent. Hopefully we will see a third Brit next year in Motogp, I have my fingers crossed for Johnny Rea to do well and get the Gresini Honda ride.
  24. Just read on Twitter that Spies has signed for Promac Ducati with Iannone as his team mate on full spec factory machines. Not sure this is a good move but time will tell. It's a shame its Iannone and not Scott Redding
