  1. google says your bike has locknuts, that makes it easier
  2. mine has screw and locknuts and I managed it
  3. I would recommend some form of protective trousers. I have a couple of pairs of heine gerike trousers with removable liners, useful for me as my bike is a commuter and they fit over my work pants if I remove the liner. unless its absolutely bucketing it down I dont need to bother with waterproof over trousers as well
  4. have you adjusted the idle screw on the carb?
  5. Sorry Stu you are probably right, he still sounds stranger than Dabir on karaoke though!
  6. in light of the very strong possibility of the member being a spammer I would like to withdraw my recommendation of the almax and instead recommend this much superior chain http://image.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/62524/62524,1288907464,1/stock-photo-bad-security-concept-with-old-metal-chain-padlock-and-blue-rope-isolated-on-white-64400218.jpg

oops, I deleted my post after you replied! caps are cheap, about £3 or £4 usually. you can find out what cap you need on the ngk website, you just need the part number of your spark plug which is usually printed on the white porcelainn
  8. a service or haynes manual might be a good idea
  9. ouch! I know there are some kinds of threadlock which are meant to be pretty much permanent (green one or red one?) but didnt think it would grab on enough to strip threads think I'll use silicone too!!
  10. whats wrong with threadlock? not starting a fight, genuinely curious
  11. I realized that after I posted! thought about the sump plug and how you dont want a lot of torque on that!
  12. cheers for that, does it generally work that way, i.e. m8 = 8 pounds m10 = 10 pounds etc
  13. one of these
  14. does anyone know a good torque setting for them? I know that they are notorious for cracking if over tightened but at the same point I dont want the bolts to work free and spray hot oil over my leg I have the service manual for my bike but there is no mention of torque settings for the cap.
  15. the allmax is among the best you can buy from various reviews I have read, they claim that it has never been bolt cropped, there is also this picture on their website..... http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/images/bigwall.jpg
  16. i've just registered, got to say looks like a lot of us are hoping Rossi pulls his finger out this year!
  17. have a look at his profile pic, should tell you all you need to know
  18. yep, really looks like I fixed it the first time I took carb apart and cleaned it & then it wouldnt work because I didnt assemble it properly still not bad considering I've never even seen the inside of a carb until last week
  19. we be running!! cheers everyone ps. col, it wasnt running before I started tinkering, just wouldnt run after either!!

  22. it would of been pretty funny actually after all the time I spent if it had turned out to of been that, or maybe not
  23. smart arse!! I have always heard good things about that type of spray which is why I mentioned it, but your way is the tried and tested 'just works' method I suppose
  24. have a look for graphite spray, when it drys it leaves the graphite behind which acts as a dry lube
