Keep it in second gear. You will have better acceleration and then better engine braking when you roll off the throttle.

If you are over 24 on Jan 19th you need to take Mod2 on a 600cc machine to gain a full A licence. -
Instructor failure and mod 1

On modern tyres we lose around 20% grip. Keep everything smooth and it is still safe to make progress. Biggest problem is visibility, especially if you wear glasses. Pin lock insert for the visor is a godsend, but keep the visor closed and vents open if possible. Being an instructor I ride in all weathers and rain holds no fear ice and snow on the otherhand.......

Just get yourself booked onto a 3 or 4 day A2 course starting on your 17th birthday. School should have prebooked tests so no stress there. Also, should you fail either module, you still have time for a retest.

Pretty sure just asking for 2 bikes after the draw because you did not win was not in the rules I did not win anyway, got one lucky star on each line, nowt else Had to try

No luck with instructors...
Daytona Paul replied to a topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
MattB I agree 100% about the teaching qualification. I did a basic C&G 7303 qualification a couple of years ago and it has helped. Most instructors don't seem interested in furthering their knowledge either, which is why the DSA are making noises about making CPD compulsory. I gained a Diploma in Motorcycle Instruction in May. Cost a fair amount in lost wages, hotels and the course cost but well worth it - even if only being able to put DipMI after my name -

Unprofessional things like this should always be reported to the DSA. They might not be able to do anything with just 1 complaint but if the folder gets thick enough they will have to investigate. [email protected] drop these guys an email. -

On a Green Provisional Licence all the categories that apply are on the reverse. If you have a Full licence in any Category then the licence is Pink with the full categories on the reverse. On the paperpart under Provisional Entitlements will be listed the categories that you will be termed 'a learner' If you passed your bike test previously you should have a pink licence. Are you sure that you actually posted off your pass Certificate to the DVLA? -

I'm with the go around the speed humps either L or r dependant on traffic. Should there be an obstruction on the left and an on coming vehicle then if it is safe go over. It is all Awareness and Planning -
Hopp Rider Training do track training days at Cadwell Park. Done a couple myself and can highly recommend them.

Mod 1 bike test

48k is recorded as a minor on both e stop and swerve avoidance. -
Of course you could always listen to your CBT instructor and ask his/her advice if you are struggling. That is, after all, what you are paying for

cat a safety questions on mod 2
Daytona Paul replied to tryme's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
There is still provision on the test sheet for a serious mark to be added!! Get the gist of it right and you will be fine. Listen carefully to the question: Tell Me or Show Me, How does the addition of a pillion affect the handling etc? If you are unsure of anything tell the examiner that you would look it up in the handbook - dont guess! he/she might know that, say, the rear spring on your particular bike isnt adjusted by a c spanner etc -
Joining the crew lol!

CBT first - usually completed in 1 day. Theory and Hazard Perception test £31 Then a Full Licence Course - You need to ask local schools Or do it your self! -
My Brother has recently done a speed awareness course for the same thing He got done at 69mph on a dual in a Transit like van.
-
70mph for cars, car derived vans upto 2 tonnes and motorbikes. 60mph for Goods Vehicles under 7.5 tonnes - that includes non car derived vans (so white van man hogging lane 2 at 70mph+ is speeding) 60mph for buses, coaches and minibuses under 12 metres in length (I think) 60mph for cars, car derived vans and motorbikes towing a trailor. 50mph for Goods Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes. I am 56 so forgive me if I have got any of the above wrong

New Bike licencing confirmed?
Daytona Paul replied to Karimura's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
If you are 21 after Jan 19 2013 you will have to wait another 3 years to take DAS. The rules ARE coming in on that date! By far the best option is to pass this year, on a 125 if necessary, and sooner rather than later - test's will be at a premium and demand will be very high once this news begins to sink in
