  1. I currently got a lexmoto 125 Detroit..... I'm looking at taking a das course and like the look of the royal Enfield meteor 350....I see that a 650 version is soon to be available.... Any thoughts on this bike or advise on which version? I see the 350 is capable of 100mpg which is quite important as it is to be used as a commuter bike.... Or should I just stick with my 125 in that case...
  2. Yeah lol..... They checked in my ear and even told me to take my hearing aid out.... And to remove my jumper.... Thought they were gonna get the marigold gloves out and ask me to bend over lol
  3. Is this a good idea or will they drain the hell outta my battery?
  4. I get what your saying about picking up bad habits..... But I am an ex driving instructor and I seem to get into the training mindset fairly easy....I also am friends with an ex bike instructor so he gives me tips on positioning and life savers etc.... Are you planning on doing your test for A licence or like me opting for A1 ( I really ain't to bothered with a big bike for now, though I may change mind in the future)
  5. Purely to get more xp.....I'm not having any lessons and at the moment Im still a little late remembering to cancel my signals, and I need more practice doing my lifesavers etc...I do them, but want to make sure I'm doing them as the examiner expects...I dunno maybe I'll take the plunge and just book it soon as poss lol... I'll think about it.
  6. Loving it..... Since Oct 11 I got over 300miles....I go to work and back every day and save a load on fuel money....I work early/lates every other week so at least one of my daily commutes is in the dark....4.30 in the morning is cold but great, no one else about. Passed my mod 1 couple of days ago and am thinking Jan or Feb for my mod 2
  7. I used the emergency stop as a kind of trial run for the hazard avoidance.... Do it in 2nd , even on a 125.... My bike was screaming but what the hell, don't be put off by the noise..... After I completed it I politely asked the examiner what my speed was.... He replied "52kmph" ..... So I just did the same for the hazard.... By the way the hazard I found easy , not much of a swerve at all, use your hips and counter steer your way through then get on the break nice and quick.... You can do it !
  8. Thanks everyone for all your advise.... Passed mod 1 this morning at Wolverhampton..... 2nd gear is the way to go to make sure you reach the speed on the higher speed exercises.... Yes it screams a bit on a 125 but it's only for a second or 2..... Feel great.... Day off work tomorrow.... Drink tonight.....cheers.
  9. Did you stay in 2 gear or up to 3rd? Remember I'm on a 125cc
  10. Thanks..... I've been practicing going through the bend in 3rd on a mock up car park.... What speed would you say I should be exciting the bend at to reach the target speed?.....I really am worried about taking it in 2nd as the noise of the engine kinda puts me off...lame, I know.
  11. Yes mate....atm I have no desire for a bigger bike (I do not that will probably change).... I'm just enjoying the ride and saving on fuel.....I decided to just have a go at the mod 1 (no lessons) then leave it a short while, get some riding xp, then try the mod 2 (again no lessons)..... So I take it 3rd gear is best, giving it some beans coming out of the bend?
  12. Hi...I started around the same time.... It was either a sinnis outlaw or lexmoto Detroit for me...I chose the Detroit and love it..... How are you getting on with the outlaw?
