Have you enquired about getting them repaired? that is ultimately your cheapest option. I really doubt they've properly had it. First things first though, they don't really make speakers specifically for certain genres. That's just Marketing Department BS! And especially not modern Metal and Dubstep and other overly compressed music (I'm a massive metal fan myself, so I'm not knocking the genres, just the modern producers ) most decent speakers will do fine with it. But really, even £200 isn't a lot of money at all when it comes to decent speakers, so yeah, see if you can get someone to repair them!

It's the sort of thing I'd do on the PS3 but would never imagine someone would do that in real life. Surprised they both stayed on. He's certainly making it all very exciting, isn't he? Though I'm not sure I like what he did...

Are we talking about the shift to using oblique imagery when zoomed up close here? If so, yes, they're taken from a fixed wing aircraft, not satellite. This sort of thing has been around for a while, Bing Maps are usually much better at it but it's nice Google have caught up. Though there's nothing big brother about it, a static image taken about once every few years isn't exactly useful to monitor an individuals whereabouts and habits. Very useful for general surveying, change detection, council planning, flood mapping, historic records and obviously services like this. 'Ooh I can see my house'!. I work in the aerial survey world, though we do power line surveying rather than this sort of thing. What you're seeing is no where near the level of detail that we're capable of capturing in the industry, but even at the highest level you wouldn't be able to easily identify a person on the street. We're talking each pixel having a size of 4cm in real life, but generally these are captured at 10-15cm per pixel.

Well... I did the oil change, and about 1.2L came out of it. If you estimate that 15-20% is still left in there then that's way, way over! max capacity is 1.1L... suggested change is 900ml... ouch. The poor thing. I've now put in the correct amount, and it's not leaking as bad but I'm going to have to man up, buy a Haynes and some tools and fix it myself. Had a mechanic guy at work look at it, looks like it'll be all okay as soon as I get the gaskets replaced. It was a dumb, newbie mistake and all down to impatience. I think when I last topped up the oil I didn't do the dipstick reading properly (the whole, let it run and then leave it a few mins to settle cycle) Ah well! this is how we learn right?!

Hi everyone, On my Honda CBF 125 I seem to have engine oil leaking out of the left hand side of the engine. Originally this was coming out of the nuts and bolts but after doing an oil change (I'm guessing it was too high pressure wise) it seems to be coming out of other places now! I'm going to guess I've blown something, somehow. Hopefully I haven't blown the engine, any ideas? I'm hoping I don't have to buy a whole new lump for it... Tomorrow I'm going to do an oil change again, this time put less in - this was my first ever oil change so I might have buggered it even more. (but hey, I'm trying to learn and I'm very new to this! computers I -can- do, engines... not quite clicked yet) The bike seems to be performing just fine, It only seems to start leaking after it's been going for a while or I hit a 60mph section.

It might be, but I wouldn't trust it. And no tools and nowhere suitable to do it.

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere in Leeds to get my CBF125 serviced, currently I take it to either the dealers in Castleford or Dewsbury and I'd rather not bother with the trek any more, especially now it's out of warranty. Anyway, just looking for recommendations... don't know who to trust! didn't have a great experience with Castleford, so I'm wary, but the Dewsbury guys were honest enough. Cheers, Adam

so you have a disc lock alarm where the inside rusts and you put WD40 on it!! watch you dont get any on the disc Oh, is this why my brakes don't work any more?

I have the Oxford one. Don't buy it. The inside of it starts rusting away very quickly, though WD40 has sorted it out, it worries me to continue using it. The alarm function doesn't work very well when someone's actually trying to steal it, it does however work very well when you're trying to lock/unlock it. Overall... not impressed.

I was hoping for a bit more guidance on the Snow bit, that's the one where I'm always worried where I should be positioning myself etc. But it sounds like I was doing it right anyway!

Hmm... my hobbies all have phases. Mostly because I can only afford to do one properly at a time. Photography is a big one, I used to do lots of music photography and had thousands in kit. Tried to turn it into a freelance career at many points but thwarted by the lack of a car! I now do photography at work, so doesn't feel like a hobby any more. Playing guitar is a massive one, I'm always buying and selling guitars and I think I've owned over 60 so far. Currently have 5. Tried the band thing a few times too, trying again with a drummer from work actually. Should be fun. Getting into guitar amp & pedal building now too.

Yeah, you can get car insurance on a provisional I suppose I should ask them, especially asking on a bike forum doesn't help, just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences! And naturally I'd only be driving it with someone else in there with me and L plates until I get my test done.

Hi everyone, Because I'm going to have to lug equipment about, and other things, so it looks like I'm going to have to get a car. I'm looking to do my test in a month or so, but I've seen the car I really really want (you know when you see a bike that just speaks to you? turns out these car boxes can do the same thing!) and think I may buy it and insure it as a provisional licence holder, which is just over half the price of the normal insurance. Now does this start to build my NCB from this point with a provisional? if so it's not too bad a deal, getting to that first years NCB sooner is definitely worth it. And as always, my heart is running away with me and I want one -now- And when you get your full licence from provisional, do you just tell the insurance company, get a new quote and pay the difference for the remainder of the year? Luckily I got my bike as a gift and only costs me on the insurance and other bits, the fact that I'm living at home now (long story) means I can actually afford to run both until I get the all important years NCB! Oh, and get this. Insurance on a Fiat Punto 1.2 is the same price as a Ford Fiesta 1.8! madness.

Talk to them, but if they won't listen, go to the local paper. It's got my blood boiling just reading it! It is discrimination and they have no evidence that you -are- a stoner, so how can they charge you with anything? you even offered! I'm pretty sure this is down to a lack of awareness, I for one didn't know dyslexia could cause such a problem.

Odd, I was planning a camping trip up to the lakes (on my lonesome) either the weekend before or the weekend after this! Might have to change my plans and join you guys, though I'm sure my little CBF125 would be terrified off all those proper bikes

That this year, work sent me to America for 3 weeks to fly around in Heli's. Shame the pay's rubbish. And today it was just a near miss, two of them on the same road. Let's see about tomorrow...

MPG wise I've seen everything from 110 to an utterly crazy 180! so I'd say mine is performing slightly below the norm. That MCN test is the only one I've heard below the hundred mark, a strange one that one. I did try to find out exactly what they did but they were not very helpful at all, I don't think I'll be going there again and I'll take it elsewhere for the next service and tell them exactly what's happened so far and hopefully I'll get some peace of mind. The instant explosions don't sound fun at all! So I'll get that looked into ASAP. I definitely got more performance after they messed with the ECU however, which might not be a good thing in the long run by the sounds of it.

If that's the reason and it's the only option then I'll accept it, I suppose 90-100mpg isn't utterly terrible, though I spent more to get this other another bike to get more MPG as I'm riding over 10k miles a year just to get to work. Would this explain why every so often the bike seems to miss a beat and jerk back? another minor problem I've had with it, I had assumed it was either due to the pump not allowing enough fuel in or just something that normally happens on single cylinder bikes.

Hi all, Before my first service on my CBF125 I had the 'kangaroo problem' occour twice, where on a hot day the bike just dies, which for me happened when stopped in heavy traffic. This guy explains the problem very well: http://cbf125rider.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/the-dreaded-kangaroo-hopping-problem/ Now when I took it in for it's first service, I mentioned this and their solution was just to fiddle with the ECU. Now I haven't had the problem since but I have changed my route to avoid standing traffic, most importantly my MPG has gone from 122 to about 95-100. Absolutely NOT acceptable, and frankly they seem to not want to deal with it, and I want that MPG back. So what should I do, take it to another hopefully more useful Honda dealer or give Honda themselves a call about it? Anyone else had the same problem? Thanks, Adam

It did help! thanks, though it took me many months, I finally have the 35L on mine. I think if I squeeze it, I can just about get everything in there. Looks smarter than the Givi ones too!

Yep it's a pain getting across Leeds without using the inner ring road, I have to quite often when it's blocked due to accidents/breakdowns
