  6. all things being even go for it ....but I have a managerial position same place for 17 years I met and married a motorcycle instructor and a couple of interesting opportunities came our way if we would work as a husband and wife instructing team. So at the age of 39 I started to train after work 1 to 1 with an ex police rider to get to Cardington test standard the hours were crippling with the training and full time , I was doing 80 odd hours a week but I didn't want to jack my job until we had strapped down the offers.. Long story short my wife contracted cancer and sadly passed away within 12 months and I was left as a single parent with 2 daughters and man was I glad of my boring office job and the good standing I had built with years of hitting my marks ,leaving to instruct full time would have been disastrous for me and my family Sorry for the downer but shit really does happen

  11. The problem is we have spawned a monster with vehicle insurance The real money is compensation and repairs and the insurance company's are well aware of this and want to facilitate claims Insurance almost seems like a lost leader to the majority of bikers (old and with NCD like me ) because they cant really make any real money out of us with comparison sites ,that's why youngsters are being fleeced...because they can . shocking on a product required by law

  16. I have read tips for riding in france by normad but its slightly out of date, as now I believe you need to take breathalisers etc...Yes at least one but best to buy a twin pack I have heard many new laws in france incl high viz, but do you need to adhere to them if you are just visiting the country... Hi viz is not required for bikes yet but a cheap vest stuck under your seat is a good idea What are the laws/rules? Basically I have only ever ridden in the UK and dont know much about other countries road laws or even road signs/road markings. I presume they are roughly the same as ours?.... yep except your on the other side,, make sure you have insurance/license/V5/Passport to hand if stopped this will normally mean you are just waved on . filtering legal?... not sure but the locals do so meh Are roads tolled? All of them? How much? How to pay? Yes french autoroutes are but you only need to use them if your making up time ,always use manned both,s to pay or you will pay the car rate ,cash/CC speeding tickets - how much? How many can you get before the bike is taken away? If I get ticketed in france, do I get points on my licence or are the DVLA informed?... a lot and if you dont have the money you will be escorted to a cash point if still no cash bike will be impounded. DONT SPEED IN TOWNS very frowned upon, technically you could get points the ability is available to the french but I yet to hear of anyone getting points Just general info, please
