  1. 4 bolts on the er6f for the givi rack. easy.
  2. There are the cycling morons that ride 3 abreast on national speed limit roads in very tight Lycra who get angry at about everyone. They really ruin it for everyone else, but I really loathe the attitude that says "they don't pay road tax." We have to harmoniously co-exist with all other highways users, that includes horse riders, cyclists pedestrians. The other thing is: it's not fair to say that every cyclist is a Lycra clad banker. There are some people for whom it's their only form of transport. These people don't go through red lights and quite rightly they get fed up of being bullied off the road. Just like we mostly all agree that a cager should spend some time riding a motorcycle, everybody should be forced to spend some time on a bicycle. It may just reduce the obesity issue we have in this country. (Myself included as I'm a giant fatty who needs to exercise!)
  3. I'm going to be a pedant here. Nobody pays road tax. The roads are maintained by the local authority. Cyclists have as much right to be anywhere on the road as you or I and they are bloody scary things to ride. I commuted by cycle for 10 months and was knocked down 3 times by careless motorists. Just give them the space they need and everyone is happy/alive.

  5. I zip together. In very bad weather it reduces the chances of water ingress (reduces, not eliminates!)

  9. aw - looks amazing but sadly the wife has a full day of "gardening" for me to do. That's the problem with this nice weather.
  10. My friend and myself have been talking about a C90 trip LEJOG as a holiday for next year. Well, i've been talking about it anyway. I also want to undertake a cafe racer style project. The problem being i can't really afford to do both. So the idea... MARRY THE 2 TOGETHER!! cue the honda C90 cafe racer. Feel free to post ideas about how i could cafe a cub!
  11. CBR is a sportier bike, CBF is a bit more upright. at 6'2" you could look at a varadero, if honda is your thing. They're completely deceptive (look like a big bike) and have those big bike dimensions, which also means are better suited to larger people. They do tend to hold their value well, so if you havn't got alot of money, it might not be ideal. Just a thought.

  13. good choice. the CBF125 is a great looking and affordable bike. excellent mileage. you should have a great deal of fun on it!
  14. just search ebay for a honda pitbike engine. This will yield a plethora of single cylinder engines of varying sizes that will most likely fit your bike. it's a fairly common lump and changing out yours should take some minor fettling. It seems they can be got for around £100. i'd be tempted to roll back to a more stock air filter as well.
  15. If the c90 engine fits, there's a 110cc pit bike engine that will fit also. It's a china engine, but massively cheap. Have a look on the web, loads of people have done this.
  16. There was a problem a little while ago with the little cbr's fuel pump. Honda recalled a whole load of these. Basically in warm weather, the engine would begin kangarooing like you're describing. After allowing it to cool down, it would start normally, but display this characteristic. I believe it was the fuel pump that was replaced on bikes with this problem and it went away. I tought it was only on older bikes, but could be wrong. At any case, it's a known fault. Blame the warm weather!
  17. Well that's a bloody shame! have a look on feebay and see how much a replacement engine is for one of those - and if it's worth replacing. You could just look at a 125 instead though - if you can afford it.
  18. Would explain the gradual drop off of power and burnt oil. I didn't ask if it was 2 stroke or 4 stroke - i just assumed it was 2 stroke! Easy way to check compression is to remove the plug and put your finger over the hole. turn the engine over and your finger should be blown away with some force. if you're able to hold your finger in situ, the piston/rings are shot. Your valves could be burnt out as well which would give the same symptom of no compression...just for info excellent! forgot the valves!

  22. scum bag main stealer does not do job promised shocker. not really headline news as I suspect it goes on every day. And this is why I crack out the haynes manual and do all my own servicing.
  23. Yeah, by all accounts its a common problem with the ybr. It's a simple item to replace, I believe it's a few hoses, couple of wires and a few screws. Afternoons work (might as well clean under there while you have the tank off)
  24. I like the exhaust note! I will give the sensors a good clean and see if that rectifies things. I was planning on putting a beowulf exhaust on there, so I should probably couple that with the power commander anyway. will need to wait a few months before i do that I think. Cheers Fozzie!
