  1. So I'm writing a review about Wemoto (feel free to move it if this is the wrong section) Visited the website the other day as i wanted some bits and bats for servicing my bike this coming weeked. plumbed in my registration plate and it found all the parts needed for my bike. it's not the best looking website in the world, but it is functional. I added the bits i wanted to my basket, checked out and paid using paypal card payment - so i was happy that the payment would be secure. I recieved the first email shortly after saying that payment had been received and that they would get around to picking the order somepoint soonish. I was pretty disappointed with this, because it had me thinking that the order wouldn't be picked for another day or 2. My disappointment was unfounded as literally 5 minutes after that mail came the "we've picked it and it's ready for dispatch" following that (about an hour later) i got a "dispatched" email. the items arrived to me, well packed, the next day. I didn't pay next day delivery, I didn't expect that service - but that's what I got. In short, very impressed and will be using them again.
  2. I still don't get it. They moved next to a motor racing circuit and complained about the noise. Are they stupid?! They will get no sympathy from me.
  3. Doesn't matter which way round you do the theory/cbt. Neither is dependant on the other. Wouldn't hurt to do a bit of background reading prior to the cbt though. Cbt can be quite a lot to take in, especially if you've never ridden before. Some places offer a free hour or so to familiarise yourself with the controls. Might be worth it if you're totally new. 3 days das is fair if you pick things up quick. I was a little slower in doing mine. I was in no rush and wanted to be sure of being able to pass the modules before doing them. Also doing the 3 day route I think puts some pressure on you and the mod 1 is really quite easy to fail. (It's also easy to pass!) In short - you've got the right advise already, go forth and conquer. Have fun doing it!
  4. I paid attention to what the examiner was saying. If i wasn't clear, i asked to repeat it, or repeated back what he said. if he said ok - i knew i had it down. It gave me chance to calm down between manoeuvres as well.
  5. STEP AWAY FROM THE COUNTERSTEERING THREAD!
  6. TK MAXX when they have some. the one on the headrow in leeds has a good selection of outdoor stuff and is generally 70% cheaper than buying from other retailers. It's last years gear, but we're not superman, wearing our underwear on the outside...
  7. You will be fine. I trust you're going in for the a2 license - hence only doing the test on a 125... once you get used to the weight of the big bike, they're no different to control than a 125. Yes there's more power there, which can be a little frightening at first - but it becomes easy to tame that power with a little practice. I only made the move to big bikes about 2 months ago and i don't think i'd like to go back on a 125!
  8. I'll have to agree with you. It's quite scary that sunday was my first time on a 'proper bike' and today I passed both tests. Although I suppose i've only been learning to pass the test, now is the time i start learning to ride. I also suppose a lot of it is down to road experience too. But like you said, more experience on a larger bike would of been better. And as you say - it's now that you start learning to ride! best not let the illusion of ability outstrip the actual ability!
  9. not meant as a jibe at you, but it's frightening how little experience you really need to obtain a full motorcycle license... When i passed my test, i'd have said that i didn't have enough experience on the road on a larger capacity machine...
  10. Short answer... Yes.
  11. My best advise: If you're at all unsure if you will make it - don't start it. overtaking on my 125 was a nightmare!
  12. you had LED lights and replaced with normal bulbs? could be the relay that's at fault. LED draw much less current than regular filament bulbs, therefore as part of the mod to replace filament bulbs with led, the relay would need to have been changed. (would check the fuse as well as a matter of course) you should have a spare fuse under your seat, or wherever the fuse box is located on that particular machine. failing that, it's a short. bust out the haynes manual and multimeter and get testing!
  13. I'd go with opt 1. Leave the pro's to it, it's a fair price that's paid.
  14. once it all clicks together, you will wonder why you ever struggled! We all have to take those baby steps before being competent, don't let it get to you!
  15. Marquez is getting better as well as the season goes on and he learns the pace of the bikes. This is his FIRST moto GP season and he's already making a mockery of everyone else. To top it off, his enthusiasm is infectious. He really wants to be there and will work incredibly hard (and race hard) to stay there. He's shown in previous races that he's not affraid to ruffle the feathers of the big boys (side swiping lorenzo). The over taking in the final third of the race is what sets moto GP apart from other top level track racing.
  16. J&s are excellent and have incredible customer service. I can fully recommend.
  17. My mate left his in the cellar when he took a break from riding. When he got back to it, they were all white and stunk. He had to bin them.
  18. Perfect answer! It's not as tricky as learning to drive a car, at least I didn't think so.
  19. Tank is coming off this weekend anyway so I can clean the air filter. I will check the wiring then.
  20. Ok, I noticed my front brake light isn't working. I took off the switch and tested with a multimeter. That's working as expected. I also touched the 2 cables using a circuit tester, which is showing as a circuit. My assumption is: I have a short somewhere. Rear brake light works just dandy, so I know it's not the bulb. Any suggestions or am I condemned to multimeter hell this coming weekend?!
  21. you probably want to check wheel alignment. Any haynes manual has a section on how to perform this task (ordeal). or simply take it to somewhere that has lasers who will relieve you of about £25 quid for the mispleasure. if you have a full afternoon, you can do it by the string and wood method (a full afternoon of fannying versus £25) i'm a lazy bugger as well. you will know if your wheel alignment is out, the bike will tip in one way easily, but not the other and you will feel like you're fighting it all the time.
  22. You'll be fine. I only did some rudimentary online tests for the hazard perception, and i had no real trouble. A sheep did jump out on me though, what out for sheep!
  23. I thought it was a top up test, not mod1/mod2 but some other test. Seems really harsh to expect a 17 year old to take 3 full bike tests.
  24. I'm drumming up business for the schools - They're having a hard time of it since these silly laws changed.
