    CBF125 Handlebars

Hiya Can't help with an answer to your question but why not introduce yourself in Newbies? Also, if you put your location in your profile it helps other members when answering your question
  2. I don't have an issue with visibility in my mirrors but I'm guessing that's because I'm not a bloke & don't have broad shoulders/arms On the subject of YBR mirrors, does anyone have a problem with their mirrors vibrating themselves loose? I've tightened the various joints but still find myself looking at tarmac in the RH mirror!! Not useful when on a dual carriageway!!
  3. Union City Blues - Blondie
  4. Lol that's an easy thing to do - the throttle thing not the hitting the fence thing!! Not recommended to hit the fence!
  5. That really isn't a helpful thing to say! A lot of people don't earn very much and have to be careful with their money! Please keep those sort of comments to yourself!! So are you suggesting training schools and other businesses should base their prices on your salary? What he earns is completley inmaterial, he should have never have brought it up in the first place. Bottom line is £25 p/h is their price take it or leave it. I doubt training schools have the same massive profit margins like companies such as dominoes/ pizza hut etc. Not suggesting that at all - I made no reference to training school prices. I am assuming that the OP mentioned his salary as it has a direct impact on the amount of training he can afford. What I AM suggesting is that to tell someone to 'stop moaning' isn't a constructive comment. That might be what you were thinking but there really was no need to post that thought!

  7. IMO from your circumstances as described, I would 'teach' yourself. You've done the CBT, you've got a bike (something that a lot would envy!) so if I were you I'd get out on the road & ride to gain the confidence and ability. It would be sensible to maybe have an assessment by an instructor to tell you how many hrs formal training you might need & to definitely have a few hrs training pre-test so you can make sure you have the skills to pass your test.
  8. That's bad Mark!! I hope you get sorted & they catch those 'nasty people' that did it!!

  10. Once I get the bike serviced it might go a bit faster Oh and I did a reccy run to the Miner's Standard in the car last week so I know the way!!
  11. Looks brilliant Gill! I definitely want to go up there!! Can't see me overtaking any cars, let alone 10!
  12. In my limited experience, what you do will probably differ depending on what bike you ride. I'm on a 125 & I tend to go down through the gears as I'm slowing down & hold back from vehicle in front so I can gauge which gear I'll need to pull away. Inevitably on the 125 that's 1st gear!!

  15. I suppose it's a case of weighing up the pro's & con's of both. If you do your CBT & buy a 125 to ride around on for a few months to get the experience then it would cut down on the amount of training you might need. On the other hand, you could use the 125 money for lessons & take your test on a 500cc bike. If you did the 'teach yourself 125 route it's still advisable to have some time with an instructor, who can tech you how to pass your test & smooth out the bad habits you've picked up! Wouldn't necessarily say it's easier to pass on a 125 - maybe for some like myself who feel more confident on the smaller bike, but others will say that a 500cc handles the manoeuvers better.

  17. Hi I'm presuming this is Coltishall in Norfolk??
  18. Sorry Rob - have put poll in now. Ca you vote on that instead - ta!
  19. Bit of an update after my visit to The Miner's Standard today. Camping charges are to be paid at the pub on arrival - £5 per person per night (not per tent) Drinking own alcohol is allowed on the camping field only - NOT outside the pub or in the outside tabled area. Breakfast can be booked for Saturday & Sunday morning but need to be booked & paid for by 9pm on previous evening Apart from those things it seems all is on course for a good weekend! We've got the function room for the party on Saturday night. The boss lady wants to make sure she has plenty of the right sort of alcohol. So if you would please use the poll to indicate whichever category/categories most apply to you, I'll hopefully be able to give her a bit of an idea. You ca vote for 3 things. If you're a spirits drinker please can you list below - ta! Spirits Susieque - JD & coke
  20. That's exactly what I was thinking of DeeJ!! We'll definitely have one for the campervan at least!!
  21. Erm no need to worry about those DeeJ, we already have the website ones like Decor just asked - in fact I've just had some from Vicki for the YBR. PM her for info as to how to get them. There are ones for your bike, larger ones for your car and smaller ones for your visor! What might be nice, instead of making the same as we've already got, is to have the TMBF bit but also have Rally info on - so that they're specific rally decals. Is that possible?
  22. Sue, don't forget to PM me with some appropriate music to go with your outfit!! DeeJ, it's not too difficult to either make your own or put an outfit together from clothes you already have + maybe a few accessories. That's what we've done!!
