  1. The foam is for comfort, the polystyrene is for impact absorption. Don't mess with the polystyrene! Often one shell size is used for multiple helmet sizes - they just use thinner/thicker lining. If it's really bad you might be able to buy the lining from the next size up.
  2. Yep, it will likely get better with time as it shapes to your head. Wear in in the house watching TV or something to break it in faster.

    Square Tyres!

Get a train.. Working in London, I wouldn't leave any of my possessions unattended.
  4. What's up with the ninja?
  5. Motorbikes have a small cross section and dont have a nice reflective front numberplate to aim the laser at (like cars). So it makes sense that a cars speed can be read at a greater distance than a bike. Biggest reflective part on the front of a bike is the headlight... good excuse to buy a New R1 with its tiny little froggy-eye lights??
  6. The big test is to listen to music off your bike and make a note of the volume level. If you have to have the volume higher on the bike you are likely damaging your ears. My HJC helmet is OK, i wouldn't say it's soundproof though, but that's likely due to all the vents and lever for the internal visor. Online retailers will take returns (legally they have to) so that's one option for testing wind noise... Bit cheeky though.
  7. Wish I'd thought of that. I installed mine so they can be opened from the outside. Derp. Lol, blank over the key holes - put a bit of metal on the inside of the door between the lock and the door. From the outside, fill with body filler and paint to match door. Problem solved.
  8. Not ideal - the criminals who want your bike fill the lock with superglue ensuring the next day your bike wont be locked up.. If ever you find your lock has been glued, park somewhere else because you know it's been targeted!
  9. Get a set of Enfield Garage Door Bolts from eBay. I have them on my up and over door. I've installed them so there is no way to unlock then from the outside - have to enter via the personal door at the back which is steel deadbolted security door. Cheap and easy to fit.
  10. We need to slam on the brakes every time we see one, hopefully causing an accident so we can prove speed cameras make the roads more dangerous not safer
  11. Were the pages stuck together??
  12. If the UK exiting is that bad for the rest of Europe/world as we are lead to beleive, I'm sure they will let us back in a heartbeat.
  13. So if the Out vote wins, what's to stop the government just taking a really long time to actually exit?? How long does it realistically take to get all the paperwork sorted out??

    Suspension setup.

And jap bikes aren't sprung for porkie Brits so good chance of that.
  15. Problem I have is most track days are in the week, not much at weekends close by to me, so a day of fun at the track would cost me a days lost wages on top of the other costs.

    Mobile phones.

That's what I do. Buy the handset outright and stay sim only. I buy Google Nexus devices directly from Google, and since I'm a heavy data user I get 22GB of data/month for just 20quid. Works out cheaper on the long run and means I can avoid the phoneshop idiots... But I still love the "Phone Shop" TV series.. If you're not interested in the latest technology and just want a basic, cheap phone, buying it outright on a sim only deal is likely to be cheaper. As for insurance - I don't bother. If I break it I buy a new one. Worst case I'm covered on home insurance but not likley to claim. My bank were offering "free" mobile insurance if I upgraded my current account, but I didn't bother as I didn't need all the other "free" stuff they were including as I already source from elsewhere.

    Suspension setup.

Best thing I did to my Gixxer was to swap out the front forks for a set with uprated Kais performance springs which were weighted for my weight rather than an anorexic Japanese midget. The stiffer front made it handle much better through the turns.
  18. when you say "passed" do you mean you passed your bike test or car test? if you passed a bike test in '94 whys it dated from 2013?
  19. doesn't look right does it.. patchy tear like that suggests suspension is not setup right. rebound/compression need looking at i reckon.
  20. *buys a pair of 99p cat ears* I'll gladly draw on the whiskers for you
  21. In Gmail I did "add other people's calendar" and typed in the forum admin email address. It then let me add this calendar. Sorted!
  22. Can you share the public URL of the Google calendar so I can add it to my calendar in Gmail etc please?
  23. The s1000rr tank has a nice tank connector. Press a button and the hose pops off and seals with just a small dribble of spillage. Very handy when I needed to remove the tank to install the PCV.
  24. Brake hose clamp will do the job
  25. Is is a Google calendar? If so, share the link and I'll add to my calendar subscriptions.
