  1. How can it be 250k worth of bike? Upgraded brakes/suspension and engine isnt £230k. Mabey the whole setup is 250k but not the bike. No, I don't think that bike was worth that much, but easy to see how a professionally built bike could be worth that much. Suspension alone can cost as much as a whole bike, and with the labour prices charged by "the best" builders and customs made parts from exotic materials, 200k could be spent very quickly.
  2. I think they told some porkies there. That bike looked very stock. Had stock instriment cluster and stock switchgear and didn't even manage a sub 10second quarter mile.
  3. Entertaining, but clearly all geared up to make F1 look good in light of the imminent race season. Had to wonder why they used DC whos been retired for 8 years. Huge marketing stunt and no way they were going to let a cheap bike beat a 5million quid F1 car. Also, that bike should have done a sub-10 second standing quarter... It wasnt any quicker than a stock S1000RR, but then if it had been it would have beat the F1 car
  4. couldnt beleive DC didnt know which way to turn the wrench to undo the rear wheel...
  5. Not wishing to start another countersteering debate, but did you hear how the voiceover guy explained how guy was steering the bike through the slalom??
  6. Nope - still the same morons as last time it seems... Email sent to head office, let's see what freebies I can blag for my inconvenience.. And ear bashing i took for "telling her to take it on the wrong day"
  7. Todays nomination goes to Halfords Autocentre.. I booked my car in for an MOT today. Asked the Mrs to take it there for me whilst I'm at work. She got there and was told it's not booked in until MONDAY!! But I have an email that clearly states confirmed booking for today... Idiots...
  8. Haha a move tactful way of saying what I wanted to say

  10. Ebay generally deal with these idiots pretty swiftly. Its certainly in their interests to do so. I've not had too many problems selling on eBay. On the rare occasions that i have had a non-payer, I just cancel the order and relist. Fees are refunded and life goes on. No big stress. Unfortunately it's a sad reflection on modern society and proof that the general public shouldnt be trusted with computers!!!
  11. Same here, only slippage I've had has been my own fault for giving it fist fulls of power on the dirty cross hatchings between lanes.. But that's to be expected on any tyre really!
  12. The reason why you need to budget for a toolkit and prepart to get your hands dirty when you buy your first bike!! Don't worry about it, easy fix, just hope you didn't tell your insurance company about another accident...
  13. I didn't know that, looks like I'll have to wait. Cheers for the info mate. Think you might have misunderstood that. You don't have to wait 28days, they should have replaced it immediately.
  14. cheap ones tend to be heavier and noisier at high speeds... they all do the same job if you whack your head on the floor.
  15. Yes your contract was with the retailer so it's upto them to put it right which should have been an exchange or refund. They would then chace their supplier for an exchange or refund. But since you've waited patiently, if it's not back tomorrow ask for some freebies as compensation. Or just a replacement/refund. I tend to go easier on the small retailers.
  16. It's fine. A couple of inches doesn't make much difference when you're traveling at near the speed of light!
  17. Yeah, yours was one of the ghost posts. Clicked it and it said "doesn't exist"... Spooooky!!
  18. I have an old Suzuki gs125 that I swapped for a big Mac meal about 20 years ago. Allowing for inflation and the fact it dropped a valve and the engine is destroyed and in a million bits does that qualify for the challenge??
  19. Seems very strange they just slot onto the top yoke. Need to be a snug fit otherwise you'd get play in the steering.also means the only thing holding the top yoke to the bottom clamp is the centre bolt.. Scary!!
  20. This is why I use Firefox and Adblock. I never see adverts when in the interweb. Doesn't prevent you being tracked, just means you don't see the adverts. Since the internet is basically funded by advertising, we are going to start seeing more and more sites that detect adblockers and prevent us from going further. The idea being that If they can't show you adverts (which fun their site), you don't get to see their website.
