Guest philgale Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 well, where do i start. me and mike met up with a bunch of TDR forum member at oulton park today for a hoon. arrived at 6.45 and went straight in to find people already got there bikes set up in the garage anyway, fun and games all day. my wheel bearings a goosed so after 2 session thinking it was the chain thats loose, tightened it up, still crap. changed the sprocket carrier for the one on the dry wheels and away i go again in session 4 all going well, me and mike are consistently top 5 in the group if not top 3. some guy on a rs250 gp bike was flying...so session 5 came and i notice metal dust under my back wheel, check it out and my other bering is gone thats my day over 2 sessions early. so i pull my gopro off my bike and attach it to mikes so hes got a front and rear facing shots for the session. anyway, cut a long story short. started the day like thishttp://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/uploads/20100226_213117_IMG_4964.jpgended the day like thishttp://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/uploads/temp/20100226_213840_IMG_4994.jpghttp://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/uploads/temp/20100226_213933_IMG_4996.jpghttp://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/uploads/temp/20100226_214354_IMG_5010.jpgvideo is still processing but will be up soon"> mikes fine, and the bikes ok as well, thankfully the grass was so wet the bike just plowed through it with the crash bung, lever and rearset, instead of digging in and flipping it.my bike is still in 1 piece and i stayed on all day despite deers leap trying to throw me into the pit wall by sliding the rear away as full throttle got that on video as well but will upload that sunday night. Netmeister Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Damn white lines! Like sheet ice.Sorry to hear about all the bother throughout the day Judging from what some of the other guys on TDR though sounds like it was still a good day overall?Hope you get the bikes sorted soon and hopefully for little money. That's one thing that scares me actually about getting into TD'ing, how much is it gonna cost me when the inevitable happens.Anyway, chin up lad. Mistakes are there to be learned from. On to the next Quote

fazerboy Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 if that had happened to me i would have been distraught :hitfan:and my top box would have been smashed to bits too and my sandwiches would have been mush it amazes me your smiling???but your a proffesional track dayer arent you so i guess your well prepared.but glad everyone is ok and the bike too, good video too,im sure that was gibernau following rossi and binning it Quote
Guest philgale Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 it amazes me your smiling???but your a proffesional track dayer arent you wouldn't say professional its one of those things, your riding a bike to its/your limits your gonna come off its inevitable. just gotta accept it and sort it when it happens.least its not a road bike, and mike can still pull is fazer out the garage for a ride. he wont have much time to get over it tho. were both at cadwell in 2 weeks. Susieque Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Blimey - ouch!!! Even though I knew it was gonna happen, it still made me jump!!Glad Mike's ok though Quote
drmike Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 blooming heck, Phil's got my crash posted up everywhere!Anyway, thanks for the concern. I got away with just a few bruises and aches. Pride got the worst injury!!We were back on track at Cadders friday and yesterday. Phil and dad had done a great job putting a new fairing on my bike. It may have been nerves after Oulton, but I think I was just a bit chicken at Cadwell to start with. By the last 2 sessions on day 2 (!!!) I think I was back up to speed though. Quote
