I can't sleep

before this thread goes off the rails...

Try turning everything off in your room at the plug (apart from your clock) and leaveyour phone out of the room, swithced off too.

Close your curtains and shut out all the light, shut the windows and block out all sound if you arent getting too hot at night.

Also only use your bed for sleep (and recreational... activities) just dont sit there and play on your phone, or read a book etc

Try and keep out of your room during the day

If you cant sleep, get out of bed and go downstairs. Basically try and make your brain make the connection between bed and sleep (not something you can consiously do)

Also do something that wears you out in the day, or just before bed. Maybe go for a jog and get back an hour before you go to bed, or go for a jog in the morning as it will wake you up for the day and get you using more energy throughout the day, making you more tired at night

Also, I have never heard of anyone doing this, but as one theory of sleep is to repair the body, so in theory braking your hand would mean you sleep more... I wouldnt recommend it though haha

Considering I'm on bed rest to repair all the damaged bits of my body and I can't sleep properly puts pay to that theory, however nice it is :)

Watch Big Brother.....or paint drying......same thing really....both would put me to sleep......

If I'm really struggling for sleep.....i put some chillout music on my MP3 player, stick the headphones on, lay on the bed and empty my mind of worky stuff etc and just visualise laying on a deserted beach or somewhere like that........or go down the pub and get blasted....either works....
