Hi Guys

A lad at work kindly gave me a tank bag that sits on with magnets attached inside the flaps . As my bike only has a small nose screen above the head light i was wondering if there is any chance it may fly off . The lad said it was fine on his bike with a screen ,and thinks it will be ok on mine

Any Thoughts :?:

Cheers

As long as your fuel tank is steel you should have no problems with security, BUT every time you're going to attach it just check that the magnets haven't 'picked up' any odd grains of metal as I scratched my tank the first trip I did with it !.

My bike hs no screen or fairing on the front and my tank bag is solid up till about 70mph then it starts lifting?? this may have been due to it being fairly empty?

Most have a strap for securing around the headstock. They can be prone to lifting and I have often seen riders pushing them back down on to the tank. Its a case of try it and see.

Never had a problem with mine even at stupid speeds but then I have a fully faired bike.

Never had a problem on the Fazer (which has a little visor), even fully loaded. I use the headstock strap for security, but never had the bad so much as move. Great bit of kit. Works well on the tail, too with straps...

I use some of that non-slip matting you can get for dashboards to protect the tank otherwise it'll rub.

definately get some of that ribber matting stuff to stop scratches, it also helps to grip the tank and move the magnets in their pockets to make them sit as flush to the tank as possible, other than that you should be ok, my thundercat never had any problems and it was a naked bike :)

Hey Carlos.....like the idea of the non-slip matting to protect the paint......think I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tip...... 8-)

That rubber matting (cheap at Wilkinsons) a bit late for me but will get some just the same. Thanks for suggesting !.

clip the flaps together when you take it off, I didn't bother and picked up all sorts of metal screws then put them on tank and scratched it to hell.
