Hi all, I'm just wondering if its possible to fit a fuel gauge to a bike that doesn't have, I seen some for sale on e-bay but didn't know that you could do that

I'm sure I will be corrected by someone who knows better but my understanding is that its theoretically possible but not worth the expense & effort.

Stick to your trip counter

I doubt it ! It would have to go in the filler cap or where the fuel tap screws in and be intrinsically safe!!!

someone should invent a fuel flow meter that connects on the fuel line from the tank and measures the rate of flow.

you could then reset the counter when you fill up, and it could count down the number of litres of fuel used, or if you program in your tanks capacity it could tell you how much you have left...

Dragons Den anyone??

EDIT:

Looks like someone beat me to it:

just top tank right up set trip meter to zero when it goes onto reserve note mileage on trip meter and then in future use trip meter as the gauge thats all iver do

As already said, it's already fitted to bikes & works well, it's called the Trip Counter,, zero it when you fill up, most bikes will do about 150 miles before the next refill, give or take a bit for a heavy hand & engine size
