stranger12 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 hi all, it is winter and need to get a new pair of gloves, i bought the following gloves from ebay which is ok when it is warm but when cold it does not keep you warmhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Buffalo-Torna ... 619wt_1199i am newbie to bikes and don't have much experience on clothing and etc, in your experience are there any glove types(material) that really keep you warm during winter? i also have muff but rather take it off if my gloves are warm enoughThanks Quote
rushwind Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 imho, all gloves with fingers will get cold to a certain degree, those you show hav hipo membrane and thinsulate, so should be ok,,,,although,, when the gloves get wet ( as they will, even tho keeping hands dry), your thinsulate inner will be a struggle if you take off/put on?, cos your hands will be moist( from slight perspiration)!those "two fingered" type gloves tend to keep your fingers warmer, so i,ve heard, but i havnt experienced so cant comment, muffs are really good, cos its the wind chill which has most effect, even with heated gloves!!! Uncle Meat Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I only use medium gloves as my tucano urbano muffs keep my hands nice and toasty. Quote
iiisecondcreep Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 those "two fingered" type gloves tend to keep your fingers warmer, I have Heine Gericke 3 finger gloves and they do a good job at keeping my hands warm. I did a review of them in the tried and tested section http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 75&t=43896 Quote
techno Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 If its cold enough your hands will get cold, I've had those 3 finger ones though better hands still get cold better if you need to ride a lot in winter go for heated grips or deffo keep the muffs. Quote

uk190 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Invest in some heated grips. R&g mAke slightly thinner ones for sports bikes.. Quote
priest Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 i'd say only combination of heated grips + deflectors +any winter gloves + inner gloves will do the job properly Quote
Mrbarry Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I like thicker grips tho, but I do have big hands. Thicker grips make it more comfortable to ride as well as providing a bigger heated area to warm my digits on.I always swore I would never have heated grips on a bike but i have to admit they are great lmao. Karimura Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Would heated grips work on 125s? or the battery die after 2 minutes? Quote
Colin the Bear Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Silk under gloves make a massive difference. You won't believe the difference they make till you try some. I was amazed.http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/16073266 ... adtype=pla Quote
Mrbarry Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Heated grips work fine on a 125 I have used one with them.Silk gloves would also come in handy if you get romantic with your self when you get home hahahahaha. Quote

I remember my Dad used to swear by em plus helped keep your hands cooler in the summer, unless the bike was off the road that day. Quote
Ninereeds Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I just bought some Richa Baltic gloves - going off the review on here from someone and also they get tons of good reviews everywhere else.managed to get them for £44 on ebay - almost £20 less than retail - very impressed so far. not too bulky for how much insulation theyve got and so far have kept my hands warm. not tried in the wet yet but i have faith in them. Throttled Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Waterproof over gloves if it is wet and silk under gloves if it is dry. If it is very cold then Knox Cold Killers.http://www.coldkillers.co.uk/product.ht ... nderglovesIf it is very very cold, all three! Quote
Uncle Meat Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I'm going to get some of those silk under gloves tomorrow. Quote
