Righty right who goes first?

Recommended Posts

:stupid: if there is a stop line - stop sign or give way sign on the road or on a post for the person coming out of the side road, then they have to give way to everyone on the main road no matter what they are doing (unless the user on the main road gives up their right of way by stopping and waving the vehicle out of the side road).

So basically, the user on the main road has right of way

Glad you asked this tbh, because not everybody on the road seems to know who has right of way on junctions, they just pull out no matter what lol

Regardless of any lane markings, the user on the continuing road has priority unless there are specific signs in place telling otherwise (not very often though).

Good rule of thumb:

Whoever has to cross fewer white lines gets priority.

If you look at the markings on a junction the person turning into the minor road only has to cross a single dotted line. Coming out of the side road they have to cross a double dotted line. :D

If it's a solid line at the end of the minor then that's a stop line rather than give way.

Never thought of it like this.

Thanks
