Haha!

Well, I saw pictures online some time ago, and there were naked bikers in some city. So then it's all within 30(ish) mph and road rash won't be an issue. I think it was some kind of a protest thing which happens every year. For some reason I'm thinking Brighton, but may be wrong...

Any ideas of what it could be?

Er.....

I've fallen off a pushbike at <5mph and had very bloody knees and hands, I dread to think what would happen at 30mph

You should see the state of BikerMoo's leathers after her off last September, and that was only at 30. And then there's the soft tissue damage that she's only just recovering from! 30mph is certainly no laughing matter.

And I've had nerve damage in my right arm since my late teens after a pushbike accident at summat like 10mph, so you won't catch me riding anything without trousers and long sleeves!

I agree Stu, it is completely up to the individual what they should wear (or in this case what they wont  )

I think it was the claim that road rash isnt a problem at 30mph that made a few people (including me) scratch their heads

road rash is a problem at any speed

Only if you fall off!!

and i reckon anyone riding about stark bollock naked would probably make every effort to stay on the bike...

I slipped and fell at around 30 and know what it's like. I was lucky to not have grated my skin on the road, only bruised it - but it was enough to learn that flying off a bike at 30 is not a laughing matter. Still, I meant that the kind of road rash you would risk at 30 surely is less of an issue than what would happen at, say, 80. Jeez, do I need to write a disclaimer for everything..

Thank you! The ride is probably just a couple of miles long. If someone can't stay on a bike for that long, they shouldn't attempt do it.

I think you're missing the point of a naked ride. It's not supposed to be safe. It's supposed to be crazy and fun.

would be a good laugh.. trouble is, where would you store all our biker gear/clothes whilst youre doing the ride?? Or would you have to ride there naked??

Will have to be panniers. Topbox or backpack would obscure the view! :booty:

And you still wear your helmet and boots of course! And maybe gloves as well.
