dragolith Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 Hey all,I just got new brake pads fitted, the rear wheel turns freely but the front is hard to turn as the pads rub. Tango Posted June 8, 2014 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Not necessarily......ideally when you have the old pads out give the brake a pump to push the pistons out a bit further.....then clean the pistons as much as you can and give them a light smear of red rubber grease before pushing them back into the caliper. Then pump the brake a few times to make sure all the pistons are moving together. Then fit the new pads with a touch of copper grease on the guide pins and the back of the new pads..... Chrissb6 Posted June 8, 2014 Share Posted June 8, 2014 Did you fit them yourself or was it done at a shop? If you did it yourself follow Tango's advice to rectify. If not, then take it back to the shop and get them to sort it. Sticking pads will ware out quickly, and could possibly warp the disc.
