RantMachine Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Naaaaaaah mate, it's a BMW - whack a set of Zega Pros onto it Quote
Guest Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Hepco and Becker C-Bow I much prefer the idea of soft bags that can be locked to a frame... and a frame that can be quickly and easily removed when its not needed. easy as pie to add a dry bag for over the top. probably cheaper than that one.. and definitely no worries at all about it ever leaking. unless you deliberately hole it. Ortlieb.. Lomo... huge amount of others at all prices and sizes.but i would definitely look closely at the Hepco system for the side bags, before you make a final choice. Quote
Guest Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I don't have auto kicker... I remember looking at it but the Renntec stuff looked nicer. So I have these panniers - 90L for the pair and more than enough for what I would need alone. I also have the tail pack as well. Going to that lake district with the wife in a couple of weeks and this will be the only storage we are taking. I'm sure they're made to the same level of quality but size wise - 90L is great. Be aware though - if you have large rear indicators, they may get in the way since they are quite big! Quote
Joeman Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Yes I was looking at Renntech too. What stops them flapping about into the back wheel??The hepco and Becker look a little old school.. Need to find some more pics before I decide if I like them or not.Givi do a big tailpack thing that looks good.http://media.givi.it/XN-Prodotti/foto/BMW%20S1000RR_XS305.jpg Quote
Guest Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Looked at all that stuff and more...Came to the conclusion that for affordability, quality, looks and flexibility - renntec was the best option for me.The 35L ones I had were really sturdy - no movement. Sold them for the bigger 45L, expandable version and they are somewhat trickier to get stable but have tested them out with the wife on the back and no problems. Yours will be easier than mine due to me having an underseat exhaust to think about. They don't really go near the wheel - they have velcro the top which you put together pretty tightly. Try mine for size if you want before you go ordering. Quote
Marky Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I recently got an AutoKicker tank bag and the biggest problem is the quality of the zips - misaligned and skipping teeth. Quote
baggy Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 The kriega stuff is good and can be versatile to use with bags connecting together or can be used as a tank bag.I have used them before and received top Customer service, its an English company as well http://www.kriega.com/pages/Home.html Quote
Tango Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 +1 For the Kriega stuff.....mine's still going strong...... Quote
Six30 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Kriega here to , I got a twenty and two tens , good stuff Quote
Rebel Rach Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 + another for the Kriega. I have a 30, 2 x 20's, a 10 and a 5. Also have the R25, R15 and the small bum bag thing they do. Quality is second to none and they do exactly as they promise. Ps. I think after reading the above I may have an addiction [emoji15] Quote
Joeman Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 So many choices!I have a Givi tank bag thats im pretty pleased with, so i was about to order the Givi 305 tail pack:http://images2.revzilla.com/product_images/0090/4650/givi_xs305_x_stream_tail_pack_zoom.jpgSomething Phil said made me look how it was attached around the back, and realised I might have problems because ive replaced the stock numberplate holder with a tail tidy that raises the plate and indicators up where they might get in the way. Chrissb6 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Just on the point of safety, just be sure that your rear sub frame is up to carrying the excess weight. Suzuki made a cock up years ago with the Hayabusa in there quest to save weight they produce a rear sub frame out of alloy resulting in many failures. A major recall was required in the end they replaced it with steel. Quote

I found some nice luggage on eBay made by Krauser. i looked on the Krauser website, and they say if you cant find your bike to look on the http://www.krauser.de/bike.php?language=2 Hepco&Becker site!So i might need to retract my previous statement that the Hepco&Becker stuff looks too old school.... Guest Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Joe, This will be the best option if you don't mind spending the money... not quite as large as others but will be the most secure/flexible. http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/bags-connecti ... AmRD8P8HAQ Quote

Stu Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 did you not check out the ventura system? http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/images/models/4952.jpghttp://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/images/models/4953.jpgnot cheap but worth every penny! you can double the capacity by using two bags and having one on the seat and one on the rack and they are rock solid Quote

They have a very good velcro stap, and when you tighten the attachment straps, it's not going anywhere. Quote
Joeman Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 did you not check out the ventura system? yeah, problem with the Ventura system (and its purely vanity) is that i would need to fit a luggage rack on the back of my bike - not a great look for a sports bike Quote
Stu Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 That looks awful lol. its designed to do a job not look sexy plus its a better option to having side panniers scratching your seat unit they all slide on to the rack so it cant fall off no faffing about removing the seat to remove unlike panniers Quote

Seriously - how can anyone ride around with that house on the back of their bike!? Quote
