Mr Fro Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I would be checking... It straight back to the bloody dealers! Quote
perky80 Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Spoke to them and the thing is them bolts are done at the factory , so im going to tighten them and keep a eye on them but im wondering if i should check anything else ?? Quote
Joeman Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Dealer cop out!Didn't they do a pre delivery inspection?Phone the free recovery number and have them take it back to be thoroughly checked. No point buying brand new if you rectify the faults yourself. Quote
RicKsTa Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Definitely get it booked back in. Not your problem if they worked loose, let the factory/dealer sort it. Quote
perky80 Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Na I picked it up in a van but I do see your point mate. Quote
mealexme Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Na I picked it up in a van but I do see your point mate. I believe they should still do a check when they get into the showroom from the factory - I may be wrong on this though, but I'm fairly sure my local garage does.Either way, I'd be on the phone to kawazaki HQ and telling them you arent happy with the quality of the product and want someone to check everything out. Loosing your brakes (quite literally) after 300 miles is not acceptable in my eyes. If you explain the situation to kawa HQ, I would imagine they could set something up for you to put your mind at ease, and I imagine they would do it pretty damn quickly too, as it was one of THE most important parts of the bike that's failed Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Alex it wasn't the brakes that were the problem it was the pinch bolts on the yokes that clamp the forks in Quote

mealexme Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Oh, my bad. For some reason I was thinking caliper bolts haha Quote
Jnestie Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I would take it back to the dealer. I'm surprised the dealer didn't tell you to get it back to them immediately for them to sort it out. Quote

Any dealer worth their salt would have requested the bike back for a safety inspection...blaming the factory is just a cop out. Very disappointing service tbh. Quote
fullscreenaging Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Any new vehicle should have what they call a PDI check I'd ask them if it was done and ask for the paperwork to prove it was done. If not I'd get them to bend over backwards for you or a nice letter to the manufacturer could be on its way. Quote
