R6-Paul Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Goooood morning all! Saturday has finally come around, morning watching the GP qualifying and then off for a ride!I am looking at these GIPRO gear indicators for my 2000 R6. Only had the bike a week and think is would help me as I learn my 1st "big boy" sports bike. Does anybody have any experience with the use and installation of them? Cheers all Quote
Six30 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I got one on my CB , mine just plugged into diagnostic port , easy to instal, done mine with bike on Abba stand, and no more looking for gear number 7 Quote
Joeman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Save your money mate. Its a nice gimmick but it won't help you're riding. Quote
Six30 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Take no notice of Joeman... If you keep going for 7 it does help. Quote
Stu Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I'm with Joeman The only thing it will do is let you know your in top the rest is easy if the bike moves its in gear! You will learn where the power is and not need to know what gear you are in Quote
Mr Fro Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Sorry Paul, they're just a bit of tat to weigh you down. Plus they're ugly.Spend your cash on something better e.g. fuel. Quote
Joeman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Ive got one built in. Sometimes when approaching junctions a quick glance and I mistake my speedo for the gear indicator. Split second of panic thinking I'm still in 5th gear when in fact I'm already in 1st doing 5mph. Quote
R6-Paul Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Thank you for your advise. But I'm still undecided to be honest. I've had a few situations when I've been crushing for a while and completely forgotten where I am. When I'm on a charge in fine I can feel where I am. I'll give the new bike a few more weeks see how I'm doing and look at it again. Thanks again all! Quote
