kickflare Posted October 3, 2015 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Hey folks! *waves*As I'm sure some of you are aware, I'm getting my first bike which *drum roll* is a cruiser. I've been in love with them.. since FOREVER. Most of my family had ridden them [albeit we don't talk, another topic] so I've been stuck on my own looking around the web on suggestions on how to handle a cruiser around corners. My bike DOES have footboards and I've been reading that they'll end up ending replacing prreeetttyyy often. Another place mentions... counter steering [??? wtf] and leaning [i know that! <3] Wind resistance at speeds.... crappy turning angle due to wide wheel base...needless to say.. Mr Fro Posted October 3, 2015 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Top tip: Don't pay too much attention to YouTube vids - the majority made by the public are often not the best advice. You'd be better off getting out and riding - it's only a diddy bike so shouldn't be difficult to handle.Cornering lines/vision through corners should be much higher in your brain than countersteering and have a much bigger impact on your riding. Mr Fro Posted October 3, 2015 Share Posted October 3, 2015 You can make your boards last longer by drilling holes in the plastic thingies underneath them and screwing some bolts in.
