pauly Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I've just bought my first ever set of leathers (RST blade ladies, best fitting for my shape and fine for what I need) - do I need to do anything to protect them BEFORE I start wearing them? And do I just clean them when they are grubby or should I do it on a regular schedule?thanks Quote
Tango Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 What is this "cleaning leathers" of which you speak?...... I used to use saddle soap for cleaning them, and then a bit of Neatsfoot oil to feed the leather.......but these days I don't bother...... Quote
RTwo Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Every month or so mine get a going over with Autoglym leather cleaner/ foodMakes them nice and soft Quote
Mr Fro Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I've had my current leathers for knocking a decade. Not cleaned them once. Quote
Chrissb6 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 A lot in the race paddock use baby wipes no joking, l can confirm they do work a treat. Quote
pauly Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 ah I'm starting to really like you guys - I thought you were going to tell me I had to spend hours rubbing some expensive leather protector into them before I could even go out in them . Baby wipes are the clandard cleaning equipment for anything in this house, so that should be easy enough, thanks! Quote
JamBerryKing Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 i usually only clean mine when theres a large amount of dead bugs on them, then its just baby wipes to get them off Quote
Six30 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Ive Only ever cleaned the bit where me Italian tinned tomatoes sit, when you keep getting a whiff of a pissy mouldy smell then give em a squirt of Frebeze. Quote
