mazinsky Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 HiI was wondering if I need to get a specialist tailor to sew in Richa jeans zip section to Merlin jacket, as it will need to be a strong join? Or would braces be an option? Thanks in advance. M Quote
Joeman Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Does the jacket have a zip already? You can get zip adapters to convert one zip to another. Quote
mazinsky Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 HiThanks for the reply, yes, the jacket does have a zip but it's shorter than the Richa. Quote
Gin Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Either (Or both) should have come with both halves of the zip attached at purchase which means that any decent drycleaners / tailors should be able to change one for you. Either that or braces would be a good option... Do you have one complete zip? i.e. the trousers have a zip attached and you have the spare other half. Quote
mazinsky Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Hi Yes, the trousers have both halves, I'll take them along to the tailors then. Thanks Quote
mazinsky Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Wasn't sure if extra strong thread or similar would be needed... Quote
Gin Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Try and look for that does leather repairs or more so Motorcycle gear repairs. I have one near me that is really good... Just give them a ring before taking the gear in and they should be able to make sure it's strong enough for you Quote
Mr Fro Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Do it yourself!I adapted some RST trousers to fit a Spyke jacket. Went to the haberdashers for a zip to fit the jacket and sewed it on the zip of the trousers. Diddly done. Quote
soll Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 stapled the zip part from my jacket to my trousers.....should sort it properly i suppose Quote
